Not really. I dont consider myself a lucky person. I dont have a girlfriend or have enough money to be financially secure.

But having a girlfriend would just make you even less financially secure :money:

Money doesnt bring happiness - Its just a tool.

I always think whats the point of spending cash that doesnt need to be spent.

I haven't read much of this thread, but I think you are a fantastic role model to the youth of today. Good luck in your quest to save, but I'd say you are well on your way to your goal. Well done.
  • Hey Mcsaver! Don't worry about the girlfriend bit, You will find one, you got the rest of your life, and while you don't .. Keep saving! because once you do find that loved one, its hard not to spend on them! Trust me lol!

Also very lucky about having little bills to pay! Do you not pay any rent at all? I'm at college at the moment, and I still have to pay rent! Hahaha!!! can we swap parents?

Don't fret my dear, your soul mate is out there somewhere, and you will find her, and you will happily let her bleed your savings dry, it's what us girls are for.

My fella hardly saves a thing - I think he manages around 5% of take home pay. The agreement is that I save, and he takes me out ;)

  • Monthly update. Didn't do as well as usual this month, only saved 14% of income, due to spending way too much on holiday.

    It was worth it though.

Now at 26.7% of my target of £25k by 2012, and well on track to have over £10k in savings by Christmas (sadly, I shall still have around £1700 worth of debts by then - car loan, ick).

Good luck savers for the new month, and keep up the good work! :)

  • Let me tell you that I am actually bored of saving money that I do not currently need at this rate I would eventually save enough money to generate an interest payment every month that will give me confort. I am at the point were I'm going to receive more than £200 a month. Saving money for me is starting to become pointless and I am only saving money because I have nothing to spend it on.

@ lisa76 - I am not too far away from my goal - I can almost afford a house now thanks to the recent credit crunch.

Even if I am able to buy a decent house I wouldnt consider moving out because I dont fancy living alone.

@ lokolo - I have already saved thousands.

Its 75.3% of my total annual income for 2007 I have saved so in december this figure will be likely to be around 100%

I am saving while I am young because I do not believe in borrowing and I also do not have any big expenses like a car, rent or mortgage, any household bills or council tax or nor do I have girlfriend either so my excell cash is going to be saved rather than spent. Another reason why I save is because I have nothing to spend my cash on.

haha, this is my point exactly...LIVE YOUR LIFE...

You obviously must live at home with parents and never go out. Just because some people havent saved everything while young doesnt mean they have to borrow..there is a balance. You are the other extreme.
Living the good life spending all my money but loving it!!

Do you not think with the credit crunch it would be nice to offer your mum rent?
