Resting indoors as a bit of a dicky tummy :o, so 2011 highlights:
    • Hello CathT,
    • Tried and failed to read Moby D-ick - "Gave up on Moby !!!!. Unless the next chapter went along the lines of 'Chapter 35. Moby !!!! appeared. Boat sunk. They're all dead. The end' I would be abandoning it. It didn't, so I have"
    • I was a size 12 :o
    • Much excitement as found an M&S gift card in the house......... turned out it had 1p on it :D
    • Bought THIS red hat - still have it but not much need for it out here :rotfl:. Keeping it for Justin ;).
    • Accidentally bought a house :o. From putting in offer to completion took 18 days . All bets on retiring at 55 were off :(
    • Happy memories of Tesco Double The Difference promo - at one stage they were paying me £1 to buy a bottle of wine :rotfl:
    • Proud of DD for being v good with money, still the same :T
    • "Spent £40 today on a pre-paid sevice card which gets me: MOT, service (pay parts only), air con re-gas, wheel alignment & balancing, summer check, winter check plus other car type stuff. Well known local garage so pleased with that, MOT alone would cost that :)" That turned out to be an absolute steal, was gutted when they didn't renew it.
    • Lots of trips to Spain again :o
    • New favourite word was profligate. As in 'I am not' :D
    • Discovered that little beetles had hitched a ride back from Gambia in a mask . Finally managed to kill the blighters and mask now in Spain :D
    • Agreed with Mr GG we WOULD retire when I was 55 (obviously we subsequently decided that was too far away :D)
    • Baffled Mr GG with feminine logic to justify new sofas :rotfl:
    • Dug up front garden to put stones down. Skip was pink :D
    • Got a Halifax Clarity CC. What a godsend that has been :T
    • "I was in Liverpool today & saw the Queen Mary 2 - - that's a BIG ship . Something else I would never have seen if not for work, so I've been v lucky really to have seen & experienced some great things :T"
    • "Saddo Alert: Have just invented a VFL (Value For Leave) Score. VFL = Annual Leave/Days Away, in other words how much leave does a day on holiday cost me, so the lower the score the better. I can use it to take into account bank holidays, weekends, 1/2 day flexi etc and get value for my annual leave" - I used that for every holiday until I retired :rotfl:
    • Car tax was £30 - shockingly high, it's €14 here :D
    • Threepennygate :D
    • Thought I'd finally bought the perfect hand luggage case. I hadn't - have since bought the perfect hand luggage case :D
That was the year that was :)

a penny picker upper. MFW approx 78% to go | FIRE 3 years worth (30% savings rate: now aiming for 40%!) | Normality is a paved road; it's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it | Whatever you're meant to do, do it now. The conditions are always impossible | The only thing you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library

Yes, that would be the posh name for my little blue car :D. We have the Stepway which has higher ground clearance as we have a few friends who live up tracks etc. Great value for money (but if you're thinking of one don't fork out for the sat nav, I'm not very impressed with it).

I was just impressed that it's a 5 door with more than double the boot space of our wee Suzuki Swift, but for less than £7k new!
