Question - my favourite Twining tbags were on offer in Waitrose. 35% off. I always buy when on offer & I bought 5 boxes which will last me months. Folk at work did that 'two-headed stare' look. Am I barking :o.

Oh no - I had a year's worth of tea bags purchased on a fab offer at one time! Perfectly normal behaviour, GG! :D:D It's those who don't do such things who are barking!;)

Glad I didn't mention the 2 years of dishwasher tablets and year's worth of soap powder and fabric conditioner from Tesco's DTD last year :rotfl:. Or the meal planning. Or Sat morning mysupermarket.com browsing before deciding where to shop :D. Charity shopping acceptable however, probably because we get decent brands (bought 3 skirts & a bag yesterday - ok, cost £30, but Hobbs, Great Plains, M&S and Tula :T. )

Carry on with your MSE ways, GG. Nobody knows about your finances better than you. If we go by outward appearances, I daresay, it is those who act very posh are the ones in most credit card debt. At my workplace, people stare at me when they see that I have brought home-packed lunch and a flask of coffee. They want to go pay £3-£5 for a posh sandwich. Who cares!!

If only you saw my cache! My OH calls that nuclear supplies - everything from coffee/tea, UHT milk, cans of beans/pulses/tomatoes/tuna/sardines, Indian/Italian sauces, pasta, rice, oil, flour, spices, laundry supplies and the list goes on and on ... :D

Talking of stashes, when we bought our house the previous owners were a couple in their mid 80's who had lived here for donkeys years. This was at the start of the war in Afghanistan in 2001. When we viewed the house we wondered about the piles and piles of food and bottled water everywhere. They said it was in case of rationing. I guess once bitten twice shy applies. Bless them.

Martin and Martina looking well. In fact, Mum is feeding them at the moment and they look a little bit full up a la Mr Creosote!! :D

  • Hi GG, definitely not barking, I buy so many things in bulk my garage could be turned into a corner shop (except I don't live on a corner but you get the gist). I had a chat with a person at work today who told me they were thinking of OPing the mortgage, now this is the same person who buys lunch in the canteen, coffees a couple of times a day, to my reckoning that has to be at least £30 a week if not approaching £35. "How can I find some extra cash to OP?". I couldn't help myself, stop wasting so much money on food/drink at work :eek: I did wonder whether I should have kept my mouth shut but there we go ..........

Have a fab holiday and enjoy your remaining sleep in the UK :)

    Best wishes Tilly x

 Despite saying OUT LOUD before I went to bed 'listen brain, the alarm is DEFINITELY set. And even if you DO accidentally turn it off, for the 1st time in your life, or sleep through it, for the 1st time in your life, DS's alarm is set for his work at the same time. You CAN switch off and sleep' - no sleep . Well actually, I did have a little so that is progress. Looking forward to trip and will raise a glass in the direction of Portugal. If I can work out where it is. I get very confused out there for some reason and have to remember where the sun sets and work stuff out from there :). You are going in the summer aren't you?

Right, am leaving you lot in charge. Keep the place tidy, turn the lights out when you leave and look after Martin and Martina :D.
