No champers - trying to not put on weight before holiday :o.

Lappy battery completely dead (has been poorly for a while) so about to order a new one - around £40 .

Chick is little and fluffy (I think it had just hatched when I caught sight of it earlier but it has dried now) and v cute :). In a brown baby osprey type of way ;).

Glad you've seen it too - thought I was going mad and imagining it for a second. It is really sweet!

Can you get a cheaper battery on eBay gally?

WOW!!!!!!! Congrats Gally!!! A real achievement! Do you break your mortgage up into sections to make the targets more achievable? X

Completely missed this - and your CHICK!!!! post :rotfl:.

This target was to pay off a btl mortgage I took out in late mum's house so DD could buy a place. 30k in just over 3 years, including monthly payments and 4k coming back from DD.

Next target will be around 61k as when we bought a house last year Mr GG contributed 61k more than me, so I need to pay that back. Will be in savings accounts rather than actual OP's on mortgages. Will break that down and aim for saving up around 35k as 1st target to offset next mortgage, then onto next etc.

The sums will alter slightly, but over time, with the interest on the savings etc, by the time I pay off the 61k (projected March 16) there will only be around 11k outstanding balance on all mortgages. I will then be even with Mr GG so he will match what I pay. April - Aug = 5 months so just over 1k each a month to be paid off by my original target of Aug 16. Obviously that is easily achievable so target date will need to be shortened :rotfl:. I will be forecasting more accurately when 1st mortgage paid off in Nov.

What will no doubt cause problems is any expensive repairs on own or btl houses as that will come out of pot.

Hope that's clear. Keep up at the back there ;).

That's funny! I did wonder if you'd seen it but as it was in such a big font, I couldn't see how you could possibly have missed it :D (off to the opticians for more than one person on this thread!)

I see re: BTL and other mortgage. Makes sense now. You are very close with the BTL. Well done :)

Osprey update - originally she laid 3 eggs, a few days apart. A few weeks ago she buried one in the nest - they can tell when something has gone wrong. It's reckoned that was the 1st one she laid, so now expecting chick tomorrow. Great - doesn't she know we are all busy at the weekend .

    Updated link on chick.

UPDATE - I THINK WE MAY HAVE A CHICK!!!!!!
    webcamHSchick.gif
Update 2 - or it may just be the decapitated fish :o
    - MOVE you silly bird!
Darn - see what happens when I concentrate on my work - miss everything :rotfl: Bird won't move now, so still can't see it...

Well done on missing the 9s, GG - what an achievement :T

I must focus the mind on seeing what I can save - you've inspired me yet again! Perhaps I should do some breaking down of amounts into targets, too, to make it more manageable...do you find that is what really works for you?

Nice to see Dad's put in an appearance after Mum's done the hard work! :rotfl: first time ive seen the 2 adults
  • I'd not seen both either so it was great :)

Finally saw the chick - mum decided to stop squashing it etc. Makes you wonder about how to keep one egg warm whilst not suffocating the one that has hatched! Guess they know what they're doing though....

PS it's obsessive watching isn't it?! Or am I just glad of a distraction from what I'm supposed to be doing lol?
