And I thought you had better standards than drinking £(Euro)4 wine, GG.
I drink the wine I like Alex, regardless of cost. I don't give a toss what says about my so-called 'standards'. I don't think I need to worry about €4 boxes, if I can't afford the €1.35 a bottle for what we drink (which is DO, similar to the French AOC) then I need to get back to work!!!!!! THIS is it, I prefer it to Rioja (though that does get forced down on occasion!). Now off to download the app and explore my cupboards :).

  • Morning GG, thanks for sharing that app. I've never heard of it before.

Thanks for sending the sun back - I can see pale blue sky this morning.

Sent by mistake. Please send back. Woken by a thunderstorm and it's just stopped raining. I DID NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS :rotfl:.

In other news, LBC (Little Blue Car) should be here in less than two weeks smileys-car-410812.gif brum brum :T:T:T.

  • I gather we have rain and thunderstorms on their way too. This is exactly why we bought abroad 11-12 years ago :rotfl: Crikey, Mr T was only 35-36 then. Those years have flown by.

Have a good day - hopefully the sun will be out soon.

Has Ahem caught up on all his sleep now? 30 hours of travelling is brutal.

    Best wishes Tilly x x x

I love Tempranillo - very, very nice :)

I also love thunderstorms on continental Europe, oddly enough - I have vivid memories of one in Switzerland, where we could see distant lightning through 180 degrees of horizon, it was wonderful. If its a couple of miles away, I come inside the house, though, I draw the line there!

Little cars on rural Spanish roads = fun!

  • Gally, apart from the long distance management of the BTL properties, are both you and Mr GG fully retired now?
I quite like the Spanish white in the less than a euro for a litre cartons as it is very light and less alcoholic. So you can have more without getting silly.
    Hope the sun comes back,

Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

Another thunderstorm lover here, we don't get many though. The last really good one I saw was on my honeymoon, we had an overnight flight to Mauritius and we flew past the most amazing storms somewhere on the east coast of Africa at about 3 in the morning.

I was only joking, though this has reminded me that I never did have a go at the £5 wine challenge set to me on DFW. A part of me hopes I find nothing I like as I'm not sure getting into the habit of drinking every evening again would be a good one.

On another note, my son had his first installment of 'The Rutland Water Ospreys' this evening.
    2018 totals:
    Savings £11,200
    Mortgage Overpayments £5,500

It's so exciting to hear about your adventures (keep at it as it's reminding me to use all the hotel toiletries Mr M brought back, rather than hitting the shops. :rotfl:)

You are a true inspiration :T Enjoy your freedom!! xx
a penny picker upper. MFW approx 78% to go | FIRE 3 years worth (30% savings rate: now aiming for 40%!) | Normality is a paved road; it's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it | Whatever you're meant to do, do it now. The conditions are always impossible | The only thing you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library
