I got rid of two carpet offcuts today, we'd had them since December. My original plan was to save one to cover the gap under our wardrobe if we get our bedroom carpeted. Two things - we're never going to spring for the £1k it will cost to carpet the bedroom and even if we did - the off cut wouldn't have fitted anyway :rotfl:

It's ok for you city folks! My freezer which was on gumtree had 0 views in 24 hours (and has ended up going FOC to ex-mil :)). Or at least will do when DS drops off :rotfl:.

    5 things to bin - 114/365
    1 book to CS 115/365

Kitchen painted - looks v clean.

Car up for sale - 28 views, no calls :( Lovely friend is letting me borrow a car once it's sold.

Flights booked for week to Spain - 21 sleeps :D, splashed out and hired a Golf instead of cheapest car as I have a long drive when I get there. €23 for the week which is rather :money:. Also paid for a year's excess insurance on car hire - £60 for the year which is also :money: as will cover ME as well.

Exciting day tomorrow potentially - taking curtains to meet an MSE'er :T and then hopefully off on a mini-adventure, but only if weather ok. And am not fending off hoards of car purchasers :rotfl:.

Really need to crack on with house as well - take down pictures and fill holes etc. but not allowing myself to do it till I have tidied the packing room of doom .

Not much happening money wise till payday next - which will be last full salary . 2 weeks 3 days including today, less 1 day leave = 12 days left :).

You're doing amazingly well, Gally! I hope you get lots of views and lots of sold items. Brill amount to pay out for the Golf too, by the way :)

You are a human dynamo, with all the things you are getting done.

If you don't have any joy with selling the car, We Buy Any Car might be worth a look. We used them last month to sell Mr Goldie's car, and we were pleased with them. Maybe we could have got more for it if we had managed to sell it privately, but we had zero hassle

Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

I feel a bit like a Tasmanian Devil - but one that's stopped whirring at the mo :rotfl:.

I did get a quote from webuyanycar - less than I want it to go for, but will see if it doesn't get any interest. I want it gone by 5th March as that is when the insurance runs out.

What will I do when I can't go to work for a rest .

So, this weekend has consisted of:
    • 1 hr drive to drop curtains off at Mooloo's (and very nice she was too) :T
    • 1 hr drive to Bosworth Field - had a great guided walk round (and impressed myself by prompting the guide when he forgot a name - am obviously progressing to the advanced years where you forget what's happening at the moment and remember stuff from years ago - must have been 35 years since I hear Brackenbury mentioned :rotfl:)
    • Tidied up and put order into the Packing Room of Doom
    • Visited ex-MIL for a cuppa
    • Packed a suitcase for Spain and one for ME
    • Did admin stuff for Mr GG, remembering to tell him I charge time and a half for weekend work :D
    • Didn't sell car :(
    • Partly painted Lloyd Loom stool DD is having, and recovered the seat (used staple gun :j)
    • Sanded down door which was sticking and primed sanded edges, and another door
    • Popped out to get bits'n'pieces
    • Took down pictures in toilet, study, hall and my bedroom
    • Filled in holes in the above. Lots of them .
    • 5 things to CS 121/365
    • 8 things to bin 129/365
    • 7 cushion inners to Mooloo 136/365
    • Photoed, wrote up and listed 14 items on ebay. 4 have 1 watcher and 1 has 11 within 7 hours of listing :D.
    • Visited MIL in hospital
    • Facetimed Mr GG a few times :kisses3:
    • Walked 26,000 steps over the 2 days :T
    • Collapsioed on sofa :rotfl:.
Tenants in one btl have just given notice :(, timing quite good though as DS can take over as agent on new tenancy. Will put up rent by £25 so not all bad - there hopefully won't be a void of more than a few days. Although the owners of the house next door are a bit dodgy :rotfl:.

    Plans for this week:

    • Try to sell car
    • Try to walk 10,000 steps each day
    • Get up to date on work so I don't get mega-stressed
    • Get ready for a day adventuring with DD to that London place :T
    • Rub down filled bits on walls and redo where necessary then touch up paint.
    • Watch the bids flood in on ebay
    • Watch the parcels flood in from ebay (oops :o)
    Have a good week all. 2 weeks 2 days - 1 day = 11 days :T:eek::j:eek::T
