I've found it quite difficult to balance my funds between longer term savings and immediate access.
My instinct is to 'lock' money away for higher interest, but I don't want to get to a point where I decide to book a holiday and I haven't got the readies available.
I'll be looking at it again in April, after we get back from our holidays.
But I love my 123 account for easy access savings
I think the sale of the car is one of those bittersweet things. It's good, as it fits in with your plans, but a little bit sad as well, as we get fond of our cars (or maybe that's just me!:rotfl:)
PS, I love that London place too....... we've generally visited about 3 - 4 times a year, and hope to carry on doing that, as there's a lot of museums I want to go toEarly retired - 18th December 2014

I'm loving the faux-Mulberry bags :rotfl: as well as the thoughtfulness about which accounts to stash the money in. Good for you! Mindful money ...2023: the year I get to buy a car0

We should be ashamed of ourselves when there are so many people on here losing sleep over really having to juggle money to pay bills etc. Very much a first world problem!
Perhaps. But we're all living in our own reality, and have to deal with the problems our reality presents to us. Playing the "oh but X person is so much worse off than me so I should just shut up" isn't really helpful, cuz there's always someone who's worse off, and them being worse off doesn't change your problems that you need to deal with. All you can do is try to make the best decisions that you can with the reality you're faced with, and not compare yourself to others, because their reality is not yours
Not easy though
Edited to add: I'm not saying ignore or play down other people's challenges, but don't play down your own eitherRule 7: If you're not changing it, you're choosing it.
