    Bored now :(

Been to that London place today. It's quite big really, especially when you walk around most of it . Over 9 miles :T.

In other news, iRene got a new little friend today - iVy who is being looked after by DD :).

Walking round London can be great, can't it Gally - last year I mapped out a route to take lots of cat statue pix :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

You can keep that London place, in fact take it with you to the middle east!

I just want to know who Irene and Ivy are? Or perhaps I don't ...
    2018 totals:
    Savings £11,200
    Mortgage Overpayments £5,500

Well over 20,000 steps walked so pleased with that :T.

It's not Irene and Ivy, it's iRene and iVy - iPad minis :D.

Yesterday before I went to London I had to accept that the bestest boots in all the world had died :(. I thought some stitching had come undone but the leather has ripped over the instep (probably cos I've been wearing walking socks with them as so comfy :o). I think I've had them about 6 years and they were about £120 in the sale so £20 a year is totally bargainous as they've been worn pretty constantly 5 months of the year. So that's about £4 a month, £1 a week, less than 15p a day :T.

Popped into Clarks in that London place, Goretex boots reduced to £70 but zip faulty. Nipped into second branch and they had them in a 1/2 size smaller so bought them - felt tight but had aforementioned walking socks on and these boots will be for winters in Spain so won't need thick socks. Will have a walkabout in house with ordinary socks and decide whether to keep. It's not their fault they're not my Jones ones and they will no doubt grow on me :).

So much to do today . Fortunately wasting hours on here is on the list so that's achieved :T.

Missing Mr GG :(, didn't get to speak to him yesterday, but he's back next weekend for 4 days :kisses2:.

How do you find the iPad Mini compared to the full sized one? I'm swithering over a tablet purchase, but not sure if the smaller ones would cover it...
  • Imo you don't notice the size difference.

    Go on Gally, say something........
Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

Well, it depends on what you do with it :D.

What do you want it for? I use iRene out of the house - on trains etc, and if I'm on holiday (so quite a lot :o). I use the laptop in the house for browsing as the screen is much bigger obviously, but also as it's easier to use - being able to easily go to first new post on diaries on here etc., plus all my excel docs etc. DD had an iPad previously and sold it as it was too big to be really portable out of the house but not as functional as a laptop.

In proper money news...... car is sold :(, an driving friend's car for now :j. Money was burning a hole in my pocket so bought a few Mulberry bags as I'm sure they will be a good investment in the years to come :T. OK, I put it in my pension really :D.

It's difficult to decide what to do - at the moment as still a 40% tax payer it makes sense to put in pension for the tax relief. 1k in gets an additional £650+ added and I could get over £400 of it back tax free as part of a lump sum. But I don't want to leave myself short of ready cash, so trying to strike a balance. Instant access account at 1.21% is the 'holding bay' for M&S regular saver money, I also have an Al Rayan 180 day notice @1.8% and 2k in TSB 5%. FD reg saver @6% and S123 @3% are 'house account' money so they can't be utilised. Have also started to dabble in Funding Circle though I need to spend a bit of time really reading up on it.

Am thinking that little dribs & drabs will get split between FC and Al R, also mindful that will want to fund pension with £2,880 each year and hopefully keep M&S reg saver going. But M&S saver will mature after a year, giving just over 3k, so that could fund pension each year. Etc etc, etc, sore brain and so on :rotfl:.
