It's the weekend :j
- Quite a stressful week at work but finished off with our company's summer day out
. Good fun, lots of swashbuckling pirates (no Johnny Depp though
) and dragon boat rowing to the beat of '*rse, *rse' which was very inspirational :rotfl:.
- New sofas coming Tuesday :T
- Came home & gave living room 2 coats of paint & dug up some of front garden. One more coat required, plus touching up round the edges then walls are done. All a bit of muddle really as will then gloss skirting board and window sill but leave doors & surrounds as need to somehow get old sofas out tomorrow with Mr GG's help (it has that old song 'right said Fred' written all over it :rotfl:). Em....... plus ceiling has still not been plastered as I can't find anyone. Am working on basis that when it is done, although I know it will make a mess, it won't involve more than a lot of touching up which is easier than painting from scratch with 2 new sofas in the room.
- Painted using Dulux Paintpod which I got free with paint from Wilkinsons. Elsuperbo :j:j:j:j, no mess at all, whereas at best I usually look like an extremely chicken poxy person
. Fortunate it works, as I bought 3, seeing as how I needed the paint anyway :j
- Ebay not exactly roaring ahead, 4 items selling for total of £10.66.I hope a few more go and they pay quickly then I can make a small OP - haven't made one since 5th July . Will relist most of rest at 99p.
- Email from Spain to say boiler not working , eek, hopefully not too dear to fix
- Getting ready to regroup money-wise. I have had a few months of spending. I don't regret the clothes, sofas etc but after I get the furniture for living room then I am done. I earn a really good wage so I'm trying to find a balance between not having a shabby house or tired clothes but still paying off mortgage asap. Guess that means that every now & then a little diversion off the straight & narrow is ok. Isn't it
- Anyway, back to the really important stuff. According to my summary spreadsheet the daily interest on our joint mortgages is currently £6.55 a day but will drop to £6.49 on 1st :T, before dipping above £6.50 on 30th Aug
. How very dare it . However, won't take much to get it staying below £6.50 so sure it will be achieved. Forget the 2k being spent on living room, that 1p is obviously more important
. As of today the debt on those is 136.6k
- DS's birthday today :T, got him a few things from Hollister (what an up-itself shop with all that darkness & only a few spotlights. Didn't stop me finding the clearance shelves though, ha, they'll have to try harder :rotfl:). He also wants me to pay a monthly sub for him so that's him sorted.
- DD has gone to Camber Sands for the weekend - with much trepidation after seeing it on Watchdog & reading on TripAdvisor . However, she sent a message last night to say it's ok, here's hoping she has a good weekend as it's her only hol this year (don't feel too sorry for her as she had 3 weeks in S America last Nov!)
- 5 weeks today till holiday, 35 sleeps :j
- 5 weeks & 2 days, 37 sleeps till I turn 50 :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
- Off to make broccoli & bottom of fridge soup

Very weird TG, but we're only a small co so I think I'd have spotted a 6' Dane
.
- Sofas out & into garage. Took off 2 doors & patio doors to achieve, was just like that old song 'right said Fred, better take the roof off' :rotfl:. Fortunately the M&S delivery peeps have to bring the new ones in
- Had to retire upstairs as nowhere to sit in living room so in study & a load of paperwork done, including new Halifax account :T
- Walls finished & new curtains up, v bright
- NSD today, apart from ebay postage :T
- £21 transferred from Paypal so a small OP on its' way later this week :j
- Peefer pig just about full. Hopefully if I cash that in, with the £21 paypal money, it will be a month off btl payoff date
- Boiler in Spain was only €46, phew
- One top I got DS for his birthday he doesn't want as his friend has it (see how on trend I am :rotfl:) so that will go back Thurs
- Forgot to say one of the (many
) Hobbs dresses I bought went back last week as it didn't sit right. £59 credit note as over 28 days since purchase, got a tshirt & vest for £27 so still £32 left.
- Busy week coming up & hoping to go for dinner with Rock Choir I've just joined on Thurs night. Could do without the expense really but will be good to get chatting to some people. It;s in MK so back to Hollisters & Hobbs while I'm there
- Broccoli soup turned into courgette soup as Broccoli more like mushrooms than a green veg . Soup v nice though :T

Ohh you're only 50 points ahead of me, fingers crossed that we get the surveys we need soon! It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

And then a month wait for the cheque unless they have speeded up from last month when DH ordered his. I'm at £43.50 myself, so sometime soon I hope.0

You're right Michelle, I'd forgotten about that . I joined in 2006 (just checked
)and it took me till 2009 to get to payout, now 2 years to another one so things are looking up
. And I do like yougov best as they have intelligent surveys. Though if they ask me again how often I buy The Times I'll scream :rotfl:.
I had my appraisal yesterday, looks like I've managed to wing it for another year. Here's hoping a decent payrise follows. It won't be too much but I'm expecting to get more than our average. If not, my 'positive and constructive manner' may be permanently withdrawn
.
New sofas day :T
ETA: PAY DAY!!!!!!!!!! I don't have any SO's set up now to OP so it's all MINE :j:j:j:j:j........ to decide how I split OP's obviously. I will be doing nada with it till next month though as have just opened a Halifax account so need to recycle 1k in & out of there. Don't want to do start doing it at end of month as that means when I'm on holiday over month end it will muck things up.
 Hmmmm, if they do the £5 based on calendar months I could fast pay 1k today, take it out again then use the same 1k after 1st Aug, before sending OP to it's permanent home . Won't do any harm, except to my stress levels as I gather Halifax fast pay not exactly reliable........:(A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

New sofas are in & lovely. A bit dark & solid, which I knew they would be, I need to get cushions made so will buy some fabric at the weekend, I already have some to match the curtains but would like some plain ones as well.
OP made from paypal money. Also counted Peefer the Pig, £30 :j. Have keyed that into my spreadsheet & it knocks a month off
1k now sitting in Halifax, will move it out before 1st on month then pay back in again
Looking forward to the Olympics :j
Also looking forward to bed, night all!

I think I'm up to about £37 on Yougov after 2 long years (could be longer!). The surveys are just so infrequent.
I have the Halifax accounts but don't have spare cash to leave sitting there so transfer it in and out straight away and I always get my reward money.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
I'm on £37.50 on yougov after 4 years
I have quite a lot of disposable income - why aren't they interested in me?0
