    Hello Karma,

glad all is good with you, I love your photos - just photobucket for me, dont 'do' facebook & my internet time is either here or ebay ;)

Hope you have a good potter outside tomorrow, will be trying some of that here too if the weather permits... If not, then I'll be wandering the halls of MSE :D
  • Love the chat about the sixties and seventies clothes. I remember being really proud of my hotpants, and wore them with boots, shiny white pull on things. I thought I was soooo marvellous.

My mum had what was called a 'tunic suit' with a psychedelic top and plain trousers, and often wore the top on its own. She must have been at least 35!!!

I always had to be different, my favourite hotpants were genuine lederhosen :rotfl:

  • Love the pics - the artistic outdoor one is great, a real captured moment! The ballet one - didn't know legs were supposed to go that high :D.

My only memory of ballet was getting locked in the toilets :o.

Awww, thanks peeps! I'd temporarily forgotten about putting them up, so thats nice to come back to :)

Well, I don't know what the forecasters are doing, but there's a *lot* of rain and cloud here right now, no way I'm going out there right now, so like Lula, I'm haunting the MSE halls :) I was just reading about women's pension age - with the recent changes as well, it'll be almost ten years before I get any pension dosh - under the old rules, I'd only be less than four years away, sigh ....

Still, onwards and upwards and all that. I had a bit of a revelation yesterday, actually - realising how happy I felt to be coming home to this house. I don't need to struggle to find the extra money to get a detached house. The neighbours through the party wall are *really* noisy, tbh - but 95% of the time, its the kind of noise that makes me smile - doggies happy to have the family home, or the visiting granddaughter (aged 2) running about shrieking .... I can live with that. And I was thinking of the rellies in Norfolk that we enjoyed seeing so much last year - they live in exactly this sort of house, but the lives they lead, including the holidays they have, are fantastic, exactly what I'd want if I could pick and choose. So, this is my house for the foreseeable future, and for the rest of it, the rest of it is about making my *life* how I want it to be. Realistic priorities and all that - that was certainly helped along by the pension news this morning :)

In spite of that, it *is* still raining, the ground will be sodden, even if it stops raining, I won't be able to do what I was planning - so outside work, if its possible, will be limited to the front - bagging old leaves to decompose slowly, a little tiny bit of saw work to get that tree down, that sort of thing.

Ooh, and I just saw - at the side of the house was a little tree that I thought was a hazel - then the hazel at the back started up and I realised the side-tree wasn't. Found out yesterday, as its started blooming - its a forsythia! **very** badly pruned, it will need help, but its definitely a forsythia, which I adore, so :T:T:T to the side garden!

  • I feel so envious when people identify stuff, trees are just that to me, trees. There are green ones, lighter green ones etc. I'm sure, if pushed I could name a few, but have a terrible memory for that sort of stuff. Enjoy your day.

    Morning all,

'tis wet here & I'm just 'watching' the garden at the moment :D.

I can see Connie & Victoria & as I ran past them yesterday on the way to the compost bin, I saw that the buds looked a little bigger than last week. I'm hoping that means they're settling in & not plotting a suicide pact.

I kinda love a rainy saturday on MSE just pottering about, wandering in & out of peoples diaries ... drinking coffee & eating toast :)

If it makes you feel any better KC; I have another 25 years before I can expect a pension.

    Oh how we laughed :rotfl:

What are you like :rotfl: seriously, it sounds a good sign.

Toast! I have that gluten free bread! I could have toast and marmalade!

But you're 15 years younger than I am, in that case. Which is pants on so many levels I'm not going there! Its the unexpectedness in my near future I'm wingeing about, tbh - but now I'm settling here, I'll find ways to deal - "worst case" is that I rent the house out and go live in a campervan. Difficult, hey :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Gill - don't feel bad! Compared to most of my family (and compared to Wol, who is a genius with plants) I know very little. Since I bought my first house in 87, I've always had a garden, of whatever size, and however badly I've kept it, I've had to do something. I'm looking forward to the bluebells coming out - there are some spectacular forest walks round here.
