  • It's the little things that make life good, as they say. Giving yourself a bit more space, by moving one thing, and you found wardrobes! Which presumably means you can either get to stuff, or put stuff away.

My seeds were put in their pots one Sunday when I was pottering, they get minimal attention and seem to be OK. Once the weather is better I'll venture outside a bit more. For now I've made do with brushing up - not sure what all the bits of cement are ~(?) and then chucking a load of water over all the empty pots.

Sounds good to me - my little patio needs a brush too - not done that since the builders finished - of course, by then it was deepest winter and I'd already been ill for ages, but I *need* to use that patio this year, just to be outside. Oh, I rambled about cutting back a thorn-type plant that had one shoot about twelve feet long? It has indeed survived being cut back to three or four feet, and there's juicy green buds showing up and down its length now :)

    Morning!

Oh you active lot are making me want to go outside! I need to finish pruning our climbing rose. My MiL started it before Christmas, but then it snowed and has been miserable ever since - so today might be the day.

I'm interested to hear about organic seeds, but I'd guess that it's what you do after you get the seeds that's key? Might start clearing what will be our veg patch today. Thanks guys - you've got me all motivated :A:A:A

Thats what I would've thought, macgirl, about the organic seeds/not debate - but I couldn't give you chapter and verse on that.

I just opened my postal bank statement - money in there is down to less than £100 _pale_ as of ten days ago _pale__pale__pale_ I definitely have to use my energy to go to the bank today. Plus a potter, I think I deserve it. And back here to work on my list a la cherisong, plus, if I can bear to do it, fiddling about trying to make the programmes I've put onto this computer work properly - basic things like Word _pale_ its going to be really expensive if I can't.

Oooooh it's gone all sunny here now, definitely going to do some more digging - all the rain means the ground is soft.

I actually have washing on the line too :D

Macgirl - what are you growing first ?

Sad your greenhouse has gone walkies :( does it need to be pegged down?

Everything like that should either be pegged down, or quite a bit of weight stuck in the bottom. I've seen trampolines this size

flying through the air with the greatest of ease - and they're not even solid sided...

Just install openoffice - dead simple. It'll take word and excel files.

Blimey - don't think ours is pegged down _pale_ Might have to have a word with DH.

On the other hand, I could stick the little one out there on a blustery day to test out your theory Z.....

Well I fancy trying potatoes, carrots, broccoli as that's what we eat most of, but a friend at work says carrots are difficult as they like it dry - we live on the Pennines

I've grown tomatoes and herbs before, but that's about it as we only had a tiny garden before. We've got a rockery in the new house that is neither use nor ornament, so I need to get rid of the boulders first.

Any advice on what's the easiest thing to grow first are most welcome :)

I find dandelions are quite easy to grow, look pretty and are edible...
