I saw a Moomins cookbook the other day...
A book which shows you how to cook Moomins?? that's sick!!!0 -
I wrote a big long reply yesterday when I got in ... even copied and pasted it - but as soon as I tried to post, the *whole* computer froze, I even lost the cutandpaste! Then when I tried to get online later in the evening, my usual pathetic connection stopped me - its why I don't post in the evenings usually
Hope the evil smiley worked KC. I like drawing them in and then blasting them with my Nice but firm you will give me good service attitude.
Anyway! I didn't do the evil smiley thing to the shop in BH in the end - I think my kicking the trolley (hard!
) the other day must have clicked something into place. I *did* do the evil smiley thing at the bed shop in this town, and they're actually getting someone from the manufacturer to come out and have a look (how embarrassing that I've already spilt tea all over it - its not in a good place, looks very dodgy
). Thats about a fault - I don't think it'll do any good, I have to go back to the shop and say, its not that I think there's a fault, its that I wasn't told about a normal feature - by one of your sales assistants. Hey ho.OK for the memory lane people here's some links:
Belle et Sebastien http://www.thechestnut.com/belle.htm
White Horses http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_White_Horses
Noggin the Nog http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noggin_the_Nog
Awwwww :T So I was 12 when I saw Belle and Sebastien... it really stayed with me, for some reason.Hmm.........Finland.......looks interesting, shame DD is completely Moomin-free, but of course that can change
How did you get on in BH KC? I was working from home again today, must be fate!
We have to do something about this! I had a trip to Wilko, to return voile and buy the voile with the right header tape (its stiff, but its lovely) plus some CD storage and rechargeable batteries. Superdrug for tabs for dishywishy2.... and a charity shop for a lovely summer per una top for £4. I tried to tidy up completely in the evening, but it didn't quite work out, and I'm in London today, so its all a bit frantic, as I'm also working here....
See you all later

Classic! Mine were royalist at the time, I'm afraid - they bought their TV for the coronation, and half the street was in our house, apparently ..... OTOH, my best friend at school had two older brothers who not only still worked on the river, they belonged to the SWP, and sang the Internationale ... I was terribly impressed, to me the river was my grandad, but these lads were only 4 or 5 years older than me ... wonderful!gilligansyle wrote: »I know this was last night's convo, but I don't do Wednesday's very well, too busy.
Glad you chipped in!
In the mid to late 70's I was a nanny and watching children's programmes was all I did all day. And there were only 3 channels!
Even those of us who were there tend to forget about that!
We didn't watch much telly at home, mainly Blue Peter, and stuff on at around 5, and they always had a children's thing on just before the news. So I remember things like the Clangers.
I was off to the pub by then, so my Clanger impersonations were a little ... raucous
But I do remember when the trusty telly in a cabinet broke, and Dad went to get a new one, colour was in by then, so he decided to get one. But he wouldn't let them deliver it straight away. Why?? Because Princess Anne was getting married and he didn't want anyone thinking he'd got colour just to watch the wedding

Hi KC and friends :hello:
I remember 3 channels too - I love watching the kid's faces when I tell them that, and we had no video or DVD's, no computers or games, no internet ().
The clangers were fab
