Thanks Taxi! To be honest, even if the fence was covered, I'd probably have a hard job with a loss adjuster - its very obviously degenerated over years and years. Never mind, the kettle's on, and teh downpour is just a regular downpour now.

Morning all! This is very definitely a work day, but I'm still downstairs lounging about in an armchair with the laptop on my knee, instead of sitting up properly at the desk in the office. So, this is the plan today:

    - four hours work.
    - bit more cleaning before that starts.
    - couple of emails need to go.
    - hmm, anything else I can fit in!

Thanks Cheery - the cleaning turned out to be "quite a lot" rather than "a bit" - I was rather lazy yesterday :rotfl:

One hour of work now cancelled, so I *did* have time for all the cleaning - still got to attack the sink, but I'm stopping now for another cuppa coffee.

Oh, haven't been through Martin's newsletter today yet - that will count as more cleaning-avoidance time :D

On the cleaning front (and you know how much I dislike housework) - have got more tidying done yesterday & today in the hour before going to work than I did most of the holiday week! - or maybe it just seems that way beause we are not home all day to mess it up again?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

KC - you sound so positive & relaxed these days!!! What's your secret? - or is it that reaching that point of balance makes everything easier?

Thank you RT! Quite a few people have said that now ... so what's going on? To be honest, its quite surprising to me ...

Genuinely, I think, I feel more empowered by living in this town, in this house. I didn't move here for work, I moved here because, in Souk's immortal words, it suited me. The house, even tho it needs stuff doing, is well enough along so that stuff I do makes a positive difference in my life, and its little enough so that there's never too much to cope with. Everything I want is accessible to me without a big drama of a journey, and so on. Everything works, in a place and house that I chose based on my needs and wants, not my work.

I think I find it surprising because I didn't realise how far down I'd gone .... and because, well, this is actually who I am inside. That my circumstances had hidden that so thoroughly is quite a shock.

But how fantastic it is to realise that this is happening! And the realisation, and the feeling great, are because of you lovely lot out there / out here, where we work and play. Its definitely the people I know in my online life that have enabled me to get out of the pit. So thank you all, because everyone who reads this diary, and all the people who've read my diaries in the past, have contributed to finding my real self again.
