Absolutely NO to being cold KC, you'll find that your body starts to clench & tense muscles which is very uncomfortable & then leads on to other aches & pains.

Do you have a facility ,like an over ride button, to just put the heating on for an hour during the day ? If not, then light some tealights & put more clothes on. Tealights really do help to make the air warmer & make it feel all cosy too so you relax :D

    Hi Taxi!

Late on here today (for me, anyway :D ) I have a cold :(. So now the race is on to make sure I stuff myself with vitamin pills, *stop* eating chocolate, and keep drinking so it doesn't "travel" (i.e. stay around for weeks) and shifts off quickly to wherever unwanted colds go.

    Ta-da list:
    - the new Harry Potter film has been ordered. This means I will have a weekend full of "ooh! I'd forgotten that!"
    - I've done the application in Martin's email for free cavity wall insulation from whoever it is, I think its edf.
    - tiny little amazon sale.
    - did the facebook form for coffee too :j

    Priority to-do list:
    - two hours paid work.
    - post amazon parcel.
    - stuff self with vitamin pills.

    Probable to-do list:
    - its time to send money to France again, sigh. Since I do this on the computer from home, there's not really any reason not to do it.
    - order the Countryfile calendar for my mum, again, I can do it from the computer, and it'll give me the illusion I've done something for Christmas :)

Pretty sure I'll be back on here later - its a great avoidance tictac :j

    Aw, we crossposted Lula :hello::kisses3:

I *do* have an override for the heating, and I confess I wear billions of layers already. I just didn't notice at the time as I was sitting still at the lappie :o I will put the heating on when I need it, I swear - I did this morning, actually :)

Interesting about tealights! I have a billion candles - friends went through a fad of buying them for stocking filler presents, and I have a whole drawerful, plus some church candles I bought that burn for hours. I could heat the place all winter with my candles :j The other issue is that my counselling room gets quite stuffy by the end of a longish session, and I send a gale through the house to air it, twice a day. I save what heat I can, of course, but you know the dilemma, I'm sure.

    Hey ho

Morning KC ! Sorry you have a stinky cold - hope you feel better soon. Just a thought - could you burn some of your candle stash to freshen up your counselling room instead of the 'gale' method ? xx

:staradminThanks Elli :) I do need a blow-through in the house, but a candle is a good idea for the end of the day. Last week I was working with somebody who uses essential oils a lot, and it was lovely :kisses3:

Morning KC..... stern face attempted (but I end up giggling) and wagging pointy finger in your general direction. Take care of you. Do you ever use Manuka Honey. It is really good for infections/colds/sore throats. It is quite expensive but I swear by it. The higher the rating the better. You can take it by the spoonful or I add it to porridge, salad dressings, herb teas, lemon and hot water. It is worth a try.

I use a lot of essential oils at home. If you want to use essential oils in your counselling room though be careful which ones you use because they promote different emotions and depending on the type of counselling you are doing you may wish to use different oils. Now I know this sounds new agey but trust me (I am qualified) in this. For example, my friend cannot bear the smell of geranium or rose essential oils because it brings back sad memories of seeing her gran laid out after she died. You never know what kind of emotions can be stirred up by oils. As part of my introductions I always ask what perfumes or smells have an effect on people. Sometimes they say none and then are shocked by the strength of memories that can be brought back during a massage. Hope that helps

I use it every day on my porridge, ta muchly - along with linseed, sunflower and pumpkin seed (and I promise I'm not turning into a budgerigar :D)

Same level of new agey as me - I used to use loads, but somehow let it go. Truly, I'd *never* use essential oils during a session, they're not part of my competency, and it would often be completely inappropriate. Any use of them would be for myself only - I think a smelly candle might well be enough (erm, scented. I meant scented, not smelly :rotfl:).

Know what you mean about smells bringing back memories - for me, the smell of tar being laid on the road brings up feelings of safety and home - when I was tiny, we lived with my grandparents for a while, and there was a tarworks at the back of the house :D

Hey Karma - sorry about the cold - a lot of bugs going around. Look after yourself and do as little as you can get away with - definitely goes away faster when you take care of yourself!

Well done on your list - but why aren't you resting under a duvet with a cup of lemsip and a load of sentimental old movies? :naughty:
