Morning! Well, I did do some free ebay listing in the evening, not much, 6 things, and this morning I have an amazon sale too, that will mean more stuff decluttered to positive effect!

However, during the listing, the lappie started to go funny - I'd press the 'a' key, and a 'v' would come out. Then the start menu disappeared while firefox was on the screen (e.g. I can't see the time any more). Then my favourites disappeared :( and this morning, as I'm typing in this box, I'm getting words that firefox doesn't agree with (like firefox! decluttered favourites and lappie ) underlined in squiggly red, like in Microsoft Word. Hmmm. Which makes me think that this is an update - if it is, its the end of Firefox for me - I need to switch between charts quickly, without pressing half a dozen buttons, and I *want* my favourites, I really do! Off to the techie board on here, the stuff on firefox's site isn't much help so far :(

    Today, the dfw stuff is:
    - the letters to France I didn't write on Friday,
    - 1.5 hours paid work,
    - more leaves from more trees
    - figure out what the h***lll has happened to firefox
    - walk to local village to post amazon parcel.
    - couple of phone calls.

Oh my god! I just tried to copy this, as I do all posts that are more than ten words long, and the firefox button itself has disappeared!!!! That can't be just an update .... something's wrong :(

Well, at least I found a sort for the worst of the firefox dilemma - minimised the page, and now I can see the firefox button and the bookmarks. I certainly don't trust them any more tho, so I'll be looking for alternatives.

    What's "the firefox button"?

The one at the top left in orange, with a downward pointing arrow to show the menu? I've got it back now, because I've minimised the window and fiddled around with it to fill the page still, but if the page is just maximised as normal, then that button doesn't show, and its got copy and print on etc ....

ETA - oh! I've just maximised it again, to make sure, and its showing now. So's the toolbar at the bottom with the start button and the time on. Must have been a brainstorm ....

    Control-C & control-p. Or Alt-E then C & Alt-F then P if you don't like life in the fast lane.

Press Alt once to get menus, if you like life in the Trabant lane...

Sounding more of a windows fart than a firefox one. "Reboot" as they say on all the best support lines.

Try Google Chrome for a new browser.

Thanks Z! Now its working again, I won't do anything, but I'll save your post on the computer itself, and if it happens again, I'll have it to hand.

  • Oh dear KC - hope the pc sorts itself soon!

I've been being signed out of mse all morning and everything is refreshing twice and I can't get access to my budget - I'm going to have another cuppa (maybe its me?) and then I'll see where I am at!

Hope you have a good un well done on sales and listing!

There's so much about *everything* I don't know.

Of course there's so much I don't *want* to know - but that's probably just me...
