:D:D I'm a terrible person!
Actually, I realise that one reason I was futzing so much yesterday is the mid-afternoon start with the late finish - 4pm till 9pm, when I wake up before 6am _pale_ I just don't like it. The people who see me at 9pm are entitled to as much of my thought and energy as the people who see me at midday, after all, even if I'm *not* an evening person! So when the work is concentrated like that at a bad time (and there was more than usual, which is fine, I scheduled it myself and it *does* pay the bills, after all) I need to adjust my expectations of what I'll do during the day beforehand.
Collecting the leaves, and later walking to the post office for the amazon parcel, were :j good :j things. And guess what, I did more work on the accounts (on the columns in the accounts) in the half hour between two sets of sessions, than I did with all that day free:o:o thus proving the truth of the mantra, "if you want something done, ask a busy person", and totally disproving what I just said about energy :rotfl: good grief, there's no logic in there whatsoever
Its misty outside **cue smiley groping about in white light**
Right. Its a light day thankfully, so this is my to-do list:
- one hour paid work - at 1pm :j:j
- ring primary care provider about steroid injection.
- more leaves
- bit of cutting the grass, or something like that in the garden.
- erm, the accounts. Honestly.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Another busy day ahead I see...am so with you on accounts..mmm..am hoping I get my dining furniture this week then I can have a comfortable place to sort the papers in to piles0

Hi Taxi! I'm busy, yes, but most of its with skiving, sadly
I'm managing to slowly plough through the accounts, and I'm never minutely organised at the best of times, but last winter was that 2nd winter of long term illness, plus the first winter in my new house and starting up this new laptop, which I knew was going to be difficult, so the accounts are nightmareish  in a "you did it to yourself" kind of way
I'm sorting it, and reminding myself that I *have* to do this stuff.
Loving the idea of new dining furniture, I hope the delivery goes without any problems.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Am in awe of your persistance with the accounts KC! :T :T :T0

I don't have much choice, Cheery, if I don't want the Inland Revenue after me in years to come! Sorting the papers as I get them is becoming a must, howeverSo Karma - I'm intrigued. What have you discovered about cat pee?!
Not too much yet! I've been avoiding the accounts, you know, no time to follow up research:D:D I've tried to copy in the draft paragraph on my blog, but it won't let me (its not published yet) but it seems that the worst culprit is cat faeces _pale_ urine is only a problem when people don't change cat litter enough and the ammonia can then strip the lining from your lungs (I'm paraphrasing!) I simply don't think it'll be a problem with leaves if they don't smell of it, because after all its just going to sit there for a year, and collecting is safe because I wear big thick gardening gloves. I don't think I'd collect the leaves that Gill describes tho, that *already* smell of cat wee _pale_
ETA - ps have you done your accounts yet?:D:D No. I'm on "Miscellaneous" tho - which includes therapy room rental, professional memberships, professional insurance, tissues, and loads and loads of stamps . I'm getting there!

There's not enough ammonia in stale urine to do any damage to your lungs. People are making the leap from "there's ammonia in stale urine" to "100% ammonia will attack the lining on your lungs" without passing through "the poison is in the dose." If you were to start boiling said urine to drive the water off, then you may start to have a point - but who does that?
A reasonable rule of thumb with any airborne water-soluble chemical is that your eyes will start watering *way* before anything happens to your mucus membranes. Just think "onions"...I simply don't think it'll be a problem with leaves if they don't smell of it, because after all its just going to sit there for a year, and collecting is safe because I wear big thick gardening gloves. Ammonia is not going to hang around for a year. It's very reactive, especially with various organic materials. That's why it is in kitchen cleaner. In terms of various life-processes, it's actually quite a valuable chemical."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Thanks both! I tried to answer yesterday, but my internet conked out early, so it was no go ...
Taxi, thats odd, I always think of you as being bang up to date with tax info.
Z - totally agree, I'm fine with it - all the little bugs that live in the soil all wee and poo and whatever, don't they, and soil is good for plants, so ...
Anyway, I did a bit more work on the accounts, couple more bags of leaves collected, and oh my word I did a bit of proper cooking - the real thing, chopped and fried onions, chopped carrots and parsnips, and I made so much that the tatties had to go in the steamer on the top of the pan :rotfl: no way I'm putting two rings on
Bad sleep tho ... might have to do what Hypno used to do and get some nytol - *going* to sleep is easy, but staying asleep after 5 hours or so is really hard ...
Anyway, I've two hours paid work today, and the accounts to finish offha! I'll be lucky - and for the rest, I've been focussing on the accounts for so long, I can't imagine what I'll do (oh! maybe that has something to do with the sleeplessness)....

I've been researching cat urine
Some detailed comments on Yahoo Answers led me to a blog and website about .... yes, cat urine _pale_ And I've posted comments at a couple of places about this particular issue :rotfl:
All in order to avoid doing anything about my accounts. Okay one more :coffee: a strong one, and I *will* unplug the router, and do my accounts work.
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
OK I read that as you unplugging the router to not look at articles anymore.................Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
