Hmm, today - I'm working in the town I used to live in today, and then going to see my business partner, which means I'll be out of the house for *ages* for me - short time for anyone else, but not me
I'm a complete wimp ...
Walkies outside did start me off on my paperwork project, which will be continued today - but oh my, the dark clouds! Horrendous! Lots of rain, lots of wind too ... not nearly as bad as up north, of course. I think I might christen my nice new anorak/padded coat today ...
Off for brekkie now ...2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Erm ..... trying to think of anything moneysaving ... got the bus to see partner, saved 50p over the train fare ... oh rats, the bus has gone up, its only 20p saving .... however, cos I buy a day saver, I did several other journeys too - must have saved almost a fiver all told. Also had to get a taxi, which was reimbursed
and the taxi driver offered me a blank receipt sheet
I also didn't buy some chocolate that I thought was on offer, but wasn't - don't know *how* I managed to put it down, but I did!
And finally .... the computer was cogitating over a virus when I went out, both AVG and Stopzilla were whirring about like crazy - it looked like it had all crashed when I came back, but I restarted in safe mode, and its all working spiffily :j compost is in the compost bin :j teabags are directly onto the soil, conkers are drying out to be spread around in the bedroom, heating was on for half an hour when I got in but is currently off :j and I'm off *here* now, g/f pasta and Strictly behind the scenesI may even do some scanning this evening, or just watch a dvd

Morning Karmacat!
With all this talk of buffing and polishing statuesque things, did you get to see the Anthony Gormley structures? I don't think it has been mentioned?
On mse matters, we had our first dumplings in stew last night - autumn is here! All HM and the pumpkin was home grown, so money saving, warming and filling.
Hope your laptop is virus free and you have a good day

:hello: Hi Greying! We *did* get to see the Anthony Gormley statues, yes - the whole thing about "buffing and polishing statuesque things"started because the particular statue we aimed at on heading out onto the sand .... was naked, and then I realised how deep the puddle was that I was standing in, and from where DT was it looked like I'd grabbed .... erm ... his nakedness :rotfl: or, as Jeremy Clarkson would say, his Gentleman's Sausage :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I swear I didn't
tho after she said that I *did* hold his hand :j
Laptop is indeed virus free, some pages I open are a bit slow, but it seems fine, thank you :kisses3:
Money news: both clients today cancelled, for different reasons.
And is it my imagination, or my lack of willingness to jump through hoops - the vouchers and whatnot in the newsletter today seem to have a lot **faff** attached? I'm considering my options2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Morning
I have a lack of willingness to jump through hoops, hence my rant yesterday about googlemail. Was thinking about the statues, it would be a fair old walk to get to all of them; it did look rather suggestive, but you wouldn't have been able to do that with our original "statue exceedingly bare".
See what you think about the soapnuts, I use them for towels and bedding etc. they seem to come out softer. It's probably something as simple as that commercial powders often leave a residue, hence why you need fabric softener.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Aha! It'd be a good idea to do the bedding today, as even tho its cold, its v sunny - and I have a cunning plan for finally attaching my washing line either end, so I can actually use the thing.
Hope you're doing okay, Ethel - just off to check out your diary :kisses3:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
"Gentleman's sausage".. I do love your diary. Methinks the lady doth protest too much :rotfl:Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

Ahh! Now I understand KC. I thought that all this manual handling procedure was taking place in the city centre - didn't realise that the 'Legends' tour was starting on the beach.

Ditto Redsquirrel ditto :rotfl:
Still, Karmacat it is wonderful that you are taking our gentle leg pulling with such good heart, giving an opportunity for a smile and a (good natured) chuckle for free. Thank you.

"Manual handling" :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Greying, with such witticisms abounding, how can I not?
I've been out communing with nature, i.e. cutting more grass, sheltering plantpots from the frost, covering the little planted sedum with some bubblewrap.
I also went out for a walk and rehomed a big tile (from the same skip as before :rotfl:) and a sort of quarter-pallet - I have a cunning plan to block access by the terrier at the bottom of the garden.
And I can *see* the bad weather approaching from the north west - roll on roll of cloud, it almost looks like a badly made swiss roll. Hope those of you who've already got that weather are okay.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
