Yep, I felt good resisiting (sp ) the plants - when I've got files organised inside, I *do* want to buy a bay plant, ready to put outside next spring/summer, thats why the book decluttering is starting up again

There are no vents in the walls, and there are no bare floorboards!

One bargain I forgot about yesterday was at the garden centre: with a spend of 50p I bought 4 sprinkler tops - you screw them onto empty bottles you've got around the house - tomato ketchup or something - and then I also saw that 40p goes to charity, so they're a bargainous and lovely buy

Yep, the idea of bare floorboards is mad, in my eyes! Plus, of course, if you have a void underneath, as nearly all of us do, and proper ventilation of that void, you get a wind *whistling* through!

Speaking of which, I never did the air brick screens before I went out. I'll give myself another 5 mins on here, then scoot off.

When you strip it down to the floorboards, you do actually seal the gaps for that very reason. In my last house, the carpet used to rise in the middle of the floor when it was *very* windy.
