How interesting this is! Thanks folks! I've meant to buy inert something-or-other for water bottles for ages, tbh - just never got round to it. Even on a common sense basis (which I know is dangerous) you can *taste* water thats been in a water bottle for too long.
That'll be PET bottles - humans are very good at detecting acetaldehyde. *Very* good - ppb.Tho I couldn't quite force myself to pay £1.09 for 375g of organic cornflakes, when the basics cornflakes go for 31p for 500g. .... ah well. At least I went back to organic ground coffee
Well to be honest, "basics" are pretty good from an additives point of view as every additive raises the cost. So they aren't added.
Look at eeriely cheap basics soap. It it actual, genuine, 100% real soap..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Hey KC,
love the MRI description.
I remember receiving a chain type email about the water bottle / Anastasia thing a couple of years ago.
As regards organic food; way back when I was an eco activist I was told very firmly by someone in opposition that food can only be deemed truly organic if the land it's grown on is nowhere near any traffic or flight paths. I kinda gave up on trying to keep our allotment organic after that .... I've always been told that the best foods to be organic are apples, carrots, dairy & meat - not all relevant to you but they are the supposed 'importants ones'.
I hope you're feeling better now, I've got some strange 'zero-energy' thing going on & have hardly done a thing all day & yet still feel exhausted & achey. It's ridiculous & I dont' have time for it .
Did anyone else see a little creature with stripey stockings fluttering by just then ?0 -

Strictly speaking you're not organic unless you have a certificate (which you have to pay for) saying "You're organic." - rather similar to how you're not sane unless you have a certificate saying "You're sane."
And besides, it's not "organic" now - it's "biodynamic". That's probably another certficiate (which you'll have to pay for).
Personally, if you're happy to eat it, then it can't be all bad.Did anyone else see a little creature with stripey stockings fluttering by just then ?

I've certainly avoided any roads, no matter how little, when I've been foraging ... I've picked from footpaths or fields (suburban fields too!). Flightpaths - well, the planes are a long way up, but they're definitely here, all over the place ... so my garden, for instance, would never be organic in those terms. I'll do what I can, basically, and not obsess about it, but look after myself in as many ways as I can.
Weird yesterday - I let myself do absolutely nothing, but went out about 5pm for a walk around the block, because I knew, frankly, I was just going to sit in front of the tv in the evening, and I wanted to stretch my legs and get some fresh air. And who should I meet but the cat lady in the street next to mine, who says the lady with 3 pekingese (sp?) dogs opposite *me* is running a spiritual development course from the end of September. In her own house, and really really low cost, its all the issues about local connection and development at once, a complete no-brainer.
Today isn't so much about lurgy as about realising that this has all been about running out of energy. So its about doing nothing! And this evening, I have a games evening to go to, so I'll go at the later end of the timescale, get a taxi there, and talk to my lift so that we leave at the time we *say* we're going to leave, rather than at the time we're supposed to arrive home ....

I have just been foraging next to a lake up the mountain road. Yes, you are so right the lurgy often comes when you start to run on empty. You should build in "recharging" days for your batteries.
Great to hear about the spiritual course. And across the road from you too. What better way to get to know people in your local community. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Oo-er ... no productivity here, nope, nothing to see, move along - in fact, I've just had a little lay down
Mrs Moo, you're right, building it in - tho its *at least* one day, I think, and working days that are shorter, I think thats most important of all. The universe obviously wants me to potter about at this stage of my life2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Well, God did say that there should be one day of rest
I dont believe in God but I do believe in a day of rest and pottering.
