I think that must be it ...

My mother - I have to use the w/m a couple of times. Still haven't vacuumed the living room rug. I need to wash the basins, and sweep the floor. I could do the basins today, actually.

Mmmmmm... this weekend tho, I'm hopefully going to the Eastbourne Air Show! Its actually a freebie and in all the years I've lived here, I've never been, and I'm a big aviation fan, so I'm off, finally! Hopefully, my niece and nephew and his partner will come down and I'll meet up with them. Or my business partner's family, who are in Eastbourne temporarily... this is the linkie: http://www.eastbourneairshow.com/

I've been looking for your thread to find out what you're up to on the last weekend before your new job!

Hi GP! How nice to see you!

I suppose thats it ... and as far as I'm concerned, that *is* part of the general malaise - consumerism in general. This morning, while I had my cuppa tea, there was an interview on the beeb with the man in Clapham Junction whose party supermarket was burned down by looters - 3 years ago, he started a charity for streetkids in south east asia, he's built a school, and a boarding school, and he was saying about the way they study 6 or 7 days a week, desperate to learn. The ones who burned his shop down .... not. I think there's a link between all of it.

Morning! I think foraging is still seen as a bit of a weird thing to do by some people - although it is becoming more popular again, with posh restaurants using unusual wild things.. but still, it's not something that many people think to do, and yes, a lot of people do expect shiny perfect round unblemished fruit. Still, leaves plenty for those of us who do want to! Sounds like you're going to have LOTS of blackberries :D

I am, I think - I've got 2kg at the mo! I'm wondering about all this about "lay them out singly on a flat surface to freeze" ... anyone know why?

I presume it's so they don't all stick together in a "blackberry bowling ball".

Yup, it's so they freeze separately from each other. Not so important if you want to mush them up into something anyway.

Yum to blackberries - we have a few spots round here where peeps go. I have some at the end of the garden & my previous neighbour used to have an apple tree so every autumn we'd have joint apple & blackberry pies & crumbles :)

New neighbours chopped the tree down & installed a trampoline :( we've never been invited to play on it, but my cat seems to like licking the surface after it's rained :D
