Sorry to go on about the blackberries, Pippi
I've never lived anywhere with access to them like this, even tho when I lived in the previous house we had cows so near, there were no blackberries (that I ever saw, anyway
maybe there were!)

experiment with a proprietary cleaner on it too. Nothing at all of these, tho I did a bit of paperwork cleaning, arthritis playing up.
Thursday

Friday
- washing machine on - Ikea Poang chair and door curtain.
- clean counselling room.
Uh oh, I didn't check the list yesterday, but I have done the door curtain. Carried on with GTD paperwork organisation, vacuumed the living room rug, and started using carpet cleaner spots.
Saturday

Sunday
- tidy living room and kitchen.
- bath and basins to sparkle
Okay, this is the plan now:
- SATURDAY clean the Poang chair cover, and the curtains.
- SATURDAY tidy living room and kitchen.
- SUNDAY bath and basins to sparkle.
- SATURDAY AND SUNDAY soak then cook beans.
- SUNDAY AND MONDAY sweep the floors, vacuum what floors I can, use spot cleaner on the rug.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hope you manage to get out somewhere.
I must have missed something but whats GTD? I've looked around and can't find it.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Hi Gill! Okay, this is a post by Cheery on her thread originally, and after a later convo about it, DedicatedDFW reposted it there from the Word document she'd made of it
:D:D:
This is what I copied and pasted from Cheery - Cheery i hope you don't mindOh and i will have edited the final paragraph - Cheery has put the titles of her folders - and the next actions are probably a blend of cheery things (newletter) and just mine (windows)
What i have also done because i rush around lots and lots is got a shoe box (actually a boots box as its a bit bigger - fits A4 papers in
) and then any paperwork coming into the house goes in there so everything is already collected together - as per action 1
I also have a pretty paper bag - i always keep the nice bags i get and i've actually got a use for one now
I put all my project folders in here so when i move along with a project i know exactly where the folder is
So, there's 5 stages to mastering your workflow (apparently):
1. collecting EVERYTHING you need to do in one place. Don't do anything with it yet - just put in a giant pile.
2. processing. Start with the thing on the top, and don't miss anything out! All you're doing at this stage is deciding what to do with each thing - what is the 'next action'?
* if no action needed now either (a) put in the bin (b) file for reference or (c) put in your 'someday/maybe' file (for projects you'd like to get round to but not right now)
* if action needed either (a) do it (if it takes less than 2 mins), (b) delegate it (and stick a note on your 'waiting for...' list) or (c) defer it (and put a note on calendar, or onto 'next actions' list).
3. Organise - you'd have:
* list of projects (anything that will take more than one action) - every project MUST have a next action on the list - otherwise obviously it'll never happen!
* next actions lists (split by context - so I've got 'office', 'home - computer', 'anywhere - not computer', 'calls' etc)
* calendar (with only actual appointments on)
* 'waiting for' list
4. Review - you HAVE to do this every week or the whole thing falls apart (I can easily imagine! ) Start at 1 again and make sure everything new is included
5. DO! You don't have a daily to do list, but rather use your 'next actions' to choose what to do at any given time - based on time/energy available, priority and context.
Get a collection of folders together ready for each project. Every project has to have its own folder and has to have a ‘next action’ to move it forwards. Gather all next actions onto a list: home, not home, garden, errands, waiting for,... Next actions could therefore range from ‘ring window man re. New windows’ to ‘read newsletter and add dates to diary’2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I've collected *almost* everything
and honestly most of it was in my to-do list anyway - but lots of it is for info only, like a description of a walk I've torn out of a mag, complete with OS references.
I'm sorting into bundles - info, financial, health, green website, trading, that sort of thing. I'm *not* writing down the next actiontho I have already done quite a few things that take less than 5 minutes - as you can see from that, I'm already adapting it to my situation, and frankly to what I feel like doing at the time
but its great to have a system worked out ready, and then to tweak it to suit me. Never sorted my in-pile into categories before, its brilliant!

sounds like a good idea as paper work soon mounts up so will pinch some of those ideas...
I've sort of started on stuff....
when my post arrives I sort it in to what wants filing, shredding recycling straight away...need to sort stuff from filing cabinet
my accounts are done daily now but still have to catch up on a few previous months
eventually it'll just be a few minutes a day to keep organised instead of a mammoth job.0 -
GTD - I remember the whole thing now! And in fact I've saved it as a word document.
Slinks back off....
embarrassed at lack of memory.
P.S I think I even posted about it too!Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Taxi, glad it rang some bells for you. Gill, I dare you to repost your word document on here - or even pm it to me, gwan, gwan, you know you want to!
And this is very silly o'clock .... I woke up, I got bored .... and here we are, next door at the lappie. Lovely time was had, but I just can't sleep. I'm definitely going to arrange a full day at Eastbourne next year, but I had nowhere to sit, and too much sun on my head to last as long as I wanted. And the acrobatics were amazing!
Shopping was fairly amazing too - TJ Hughes, closing down, don't often see a department store in that level of ... disarray, lets say. But still not hugely bargainous. Poundshop was there tho, and I found a silicon jar opener thingie, that you don't often see any more. Stands to reasonit being Eastbourne, God's waiting room and all, but still
it was a lot more, um, normal than I imagined
I still wish I could sleep.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I'm awake as well my fault really as fell asleep from about 9pm-12.30 so awake since so going to try and sleep a couple of hours now.
glad you had a nice day out0 -
Good morning, KC & Taxi. I was up and wide awake at 5.00
If I lie in bed I sort of rehearse what I'm going to do during the day and then am quite disappointed that it's not already done.
It's so quiet and peaceful looking across the fields that I could believe I'm the only person in the world - so long as I ignore the snores coming from the bedroom. :rotfl::rotfl:
We're travelling home tomorrow. But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0
