Hunstanton? Don't forget to look for Ammonites. There are lots in the cliffs. :j:j And sharks teeth.

We'll be south of Norwich by then. 12 nights near Bungay from next Monday, then 12 nights near Diss and then down into Suffolk, near Lavenham :j:j for 14 nights.
That sounds lovely, Tricia - you'll be away for a while tho  I'll certainly look for ammonites and teeth, we will indeed be very near Hunstanton. Looking for stuff online, its staggered me how much there is to see and experience within 10 miles or so, its a great spot.

Iread that post when I posted it and was in two minds to delete it as it went off on a tangent away from everybodies dreams/hopes(as in the fact I didn't know what mine were and I was trying to explain that)...am glad I left it now..LOL...
It stayed exactly on topic in any case, Taxi! I was talking about trying on different dreams for size, remember - I don't have a hugely clear view either :o so the only possible difference between you and me on it is that I'm actively chatting on about what those dreams might be (and I do like to chatter :D:D:D)

Anyway, continuing said chatter :D, a fairly rubbish sleep - not dreadful, true - and here I am with the laptop all set up at 7.40. Since I'm an eon customer already, worth me exploring their "try then buy" solar panel scheme that Martin's highlighted, I've realised, as I do have some south facing roof - might not be enough, my roof is sort of divided into 3, and each bit faces a different direction - but if I don't ask, I won't get :D

Two hours paid work today, lobbed nicely into the middle of the day, and this is the rest of the to-do list:
    - go buy some fresh food, thats Sainsbo calling me.
    - finish cleaning the oven, which will create space for the 3rd item
    - carry on emptying the living room, so the vinyl can be fitted. Its the books :o
    - carry on with the admin I almost finished last night - I was chuffed at that, got a bit more paperwork sorted.

Loving everybodies plans...strangely I don't know what I want in the future as I've spent all my adult life looking after 5 kids and working very long shifts and have lost sight of who I am or what I want if that makes sense.
I used to be motivated by earning loads and having loads of nice things and fantastic holidays but now i no longer work..partly through choice and partly through circumstance but am now at my happiest even though we have far less money coming in.
I have the time to spend with the kids or grand children or to do what I wish.I count my blessings every day that I have a wonderful husband who would do anything for me,fantastic kids and grandchildren, plenty of lovely friends on here,a roof over my head...which will be paid off in the next few years and we have the taxi so nobody can sack us as we work for ourselves,we have savings in case of any catastrophe so that we can still pay the bills...I have had excellent medical care for my cancer and each day I wake up is another day to be embraced...I am indeed a lucky person
Absolutely brought a tear to my eye. What a wonderful post, we need to think about this more often. Thank you for the reminder to just stop and smell the roses.
for instance, I've been watching the swifts doing their thing in the evening, there's one particular road where they roost under quite a few of the eaves, and its fascinating to watch them. And you're right, this is a great conversation, I love it! Tricia, thanks for expanding what you wrote - I see what you mean now totally agree, changing goals is a life-enhancing thing.

I wrote a blog post about this very thing a few weeks ago.How I used to look forward to swifts arriving and do nothing more than sit in the garden and enjoy them. It took one swooping me in the forest to be jolted back in time and to realise how "at peace" I had been then without appreciating it at all.

Lovely post taxi, and not really off topic. It's true, your priorities change depending on circumstances; your circumstances forced a change on you, but you can still try on different dreams for size.
I used to think, for example, that I wanted to live in the country; now I realise that I like the facilities of a town too much. But I like the idea of living abroad, somewhere hot, probably southern spain. Something like this would be easily done when I have pension income only.

Oops, forgot this wasn't my diary.

Its lovely to be at peace, isn't it, Cheri ... interesting, tho, about being so at peace, so in the moment, that you don't realise you're at peace? Its like meditation: if you think "ooh, I'm meditating", then you've stopped meditating!

And its lovely to be able to see swifts, and appreciate them.

Well, today, I'd have liked to be able to appreciate some sleep - I really am going to have to get rid of this mega-expensive mattress that I complained about ... and investigate how to stay asleep longer. *Falling* asleep is not a problem, but staying asleep is huge ...

Never mind, I'm nearly awake now - I might even have another cuppa coffee after brekkie.

Definitely need to spend some time today doing kitchen-housewife type things  actually they're more "reformed slob" type things :rotfl: which I'm kind of embarrassed to mention, such as emptying soil from dead plants onto the garden and then cleaning the plant pots and saucers. That would be nice :D

Popping into town too, to go to the bank, charity shop, this that and the other. And I've sent off an email to Sussex Guides, asking if they want my folk guitar (which I bought a million years ago) - inspired by Bob. Also inspired by Bob and Frugal Queen, bought some *really* cheap Sainsbo basics bath foam to use as liquid soap, the ingredients are identical to Carex, just different proportions - 18p for more than 3 times as much as a little bottle that cost £1 at a reduced rate ....

NB at Sainsbo yesterday, Sainsbo golden syrup looked a bargain compared to Tate & Lyle's until I looked at the price per kilo - Sainsbo was actually slightly more. The cynical manipulation of pricing makes me *loathe* big business... in return, I'll manipulate their prices as much as I can.

Plus, my vinyl should be laid next week in the living room, and I'll get my kitchen back properly then. I'm going to Norfolk at the end of next week, but I swear, after that, I shall be batch cooking like DT has vowed to, and using my gluten free flours - I still have to buy from Sainsbo, they're the only big supermarket in town (unless I really bulk buy and go back to deliveries), but no way will I give them the "added value" profits from things like oatcakes and gluten free bread.

    Rant officially over :rotfl:

Thanks Lula, will do! Tho at the moment, I've been submerged in carp from the oven, from the previous owners  its revolting! I had to do the shelves, as well as the shelf supports, and I'd thought they were clean - they were, on the top side in the centre - everywhere else, they were caked in muck and grease, some of it stuck on and some of it flaking off _pale_ utterly vile. ETA: all done! I know I'm going on and on about this dratted oven, but really, all the places the muck has got to makes me think, how dirty were the ovens I left behind over the years? _pale_

*Definitely* stopping now, and I don't think I can do anything else like that today, and maybe not for the weekend, my fingers are feeling really bad :(

    I feel fine tho :j

Still going to wimp out on going to town :D I'll ring Carpetright to check on the booking for next Tuesday, and do the rest when I *do* go to the meeting I'm off to tomorrow.

Have you thought of trying a memory foam mattress topper? They are cheaper than replacing a mattress and I've found mine makes a big difference. My DD#1 recommended them as they have been struggling with a VERY expensive orthopaedic mattress which made her back worse!

On comparing prices, I've noticed a really crafty dodge. The same product, different brands and some priced per 10 grams and some per kilo! That's really dishonest in my book!:mad:

Hi Tricia - yep, thats the aim. When Mr KC came along on Tuesday, he brought along two of the foam mattresses that belong to me, and I'll use them as the base for a memory foam topper - they're only foam, but they're four inches thick (and if thats not enough, there are another two I could have if needs must - I'd like to leave them with him, as he uses them for relatives that stay, but needs must and all that). But the present mattress will have to go - the dip, which is very compacted now, is about six inches deep, and its quite uncomfortable to sleep on.

I've noticed that kilo/per 100g dodge too - agreed, its also dishonest. Maybe people still don't get the whole "moving the decimal point" thing - I convert, but I shouldn't have to!

Many years ago, I did some focus groups with agents of a mail order company who were leaving in droves after some price rises. It turned out the reason was "They've put their prices up and I still only get 10% commission."

Recommended solution "You will get 10p commission for every £1 sold."

metric measurements, percentages and decimals are not widely understood even today and the supermarkets are taking advantage of it. Grhh!

    *steps gracefully from soapbox*

I might have known you would already have thought of the mattress topper. :rotfl::rotfl: Sleep well!
