:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I seem to have struck a chord with people :j The jobs thing didn't go too badly at all, I suddenly created quite a lot of space in the office (which is still tiny). I caught up on therapy work admin, which is huge, and at least remembered to water the plants, even if I didn't plant any more, or weed. Between necessary admin, and contact work, I've been really busy today, tho I managed a half hour walk when I'd finished.

I'm finding the insulation page quite difficult to lay out ... product range comes first, I *think*, people look for products not manufacturing names, then the other info.... my little brain is whirring about inside my skull 2023: the year I get to buy a car0 2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Its so unlike my previous self, I can't think of this in any other way ....
For weeks when I moved here, I was looking for a lightpull for the bathroom that I liked. I found one, and when I went back, it was out of stock. I kept going back for it (its nothing special, only Sainsbury's, about £4.50). The very facts I didn't make do with the new lightpull that came with the new string - the fact that I *wanted* a new string cos the old one was *so* dirty - these facts are also wondrous strange :rotfl:
Anyway, it was finally in stock again. I bought it. And then came the struggle to figure out how to attach it to the existing string. Do what I did in the last place, just tie the strings together and make a feature of the join with ribbons? No, because the string wasn't threaded *through* the holes in this new lightpull - and the entry hole was the smallest blasted hole for a piece of string I've ever seen
What to do, what to do .... so this morning, I spent a while experimenting, cut the old lightpull off, and oops, the threads are different, the one thats on there started disintegrating immediately, no way would it go through that tiny little hole. Out came the trusty nail varnish to consolidate the cut end - navy blue, as it happened - and I left it again. So half an hour ago I got a darning needle out and started pushing the string through, over and over again, and I finally did it!
These are the little finishes that I've never bothered with before, because they take so long for apparently so little benefit, but if we're talking about making places our own, then its important to do them. And I did :j:j:j2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I'm glad someone else has done it too Of course, now it tinkles madly against the wood of the doorframe when its pulled, but one day, when the actual socket is moved, my life will be happy Of course, now it tinkles madly against the wood of the doorframe when its pulled, but one day, when the actual socket is moved, my life will be happy happy happy joy :j joy :j joy :j joy :j
Now, however, since I've just finished for the day, I'm off to, you guessed it, Sainsbury - not much fresh food in the house, so off I trot 2023: the year I get to buy a car0 2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I wondered what that noise was I could hear earlier . .
When DS was small he couldn't reach the lightpull and I wanted something he could handle easily so for about 3 years we had a toy plastic gun as the light pull .One small step for ME, one giant leap for my family!

Think like a man - what should you do when the hole is too small..? It only tinkles because you're pulling down and letting go like it's a small child on a bungee - small children tinkle all the time...
Pull it down and lift it up, then let go and it won't tinkle...
Alternatively, pull it down hard and let go and see it splat off the ceiling. Loads of fun, but not as much fun as doing that to a small child... I bet you say that to all the ladies!Alternatively, pull it down hard and let go and see it splat off the ceiling.

OK OK I'll confess!! the lightpull in the loo, is a job I've put off for years, so we have an ikea lamp, on the window ledge, with a 'proper' plug and an extension lead!
It completely stopped working a while ago, wouldn't 'click' so we needed a complete new fitting, tried to do it, but the old one seemed superglued to the ceiling, so the new one was never perfect, worked for a week or two then stopped. At which point I gave up.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0
