Its fascinating, isn't it! Just shows you the wrinkles that people find - in a manner of speaking
Tax payment didn't go out till 4 May, and it should have been 30 April. The stupid, stupid thing is, I had plenty of time to pay it - I was waiting for the quarterly rental payment to come in, but I needn't have bothered - between the tax payment, and the maintenance payment, I'm short for the next mortgage payment by six euros - I can't decide which smiley is sarcastic, so I won't bother ... but, grrrrrrrr.
And a 20 minute non-emergency call from a client who knew it wasn't appropriate doesn't help. I think I may have a glass of something, which is then a legitimate reason not to answer the phone. I know the smiley for that:

I think I bought the same wellies, Taxi, and I got mine in Milletts - pricier there tho, they were on "sale" and I think they were £16! I was desperate, of course, it was in all that snow.
Well, I didn't end up having a snifter last night - I often mean to, but never do, don't fancy it when the time comes. But I did watch Sense and Sensibility, which was wonderful. And I went out into the garden and weeded - am definitely reclaiming the border nearest the house, and I planted some lambs tongue thats been languishing in a pot - I've no idea how it survived the winter, but it did
However, its now given me another problem - one bit of that border, which has been languishing under a drawer I was using to move plantpots from the previous house, has a massive ants nest. Its about eight feet from the house (tho I did see a scout ant running across the draining board the other day ) and I'm not sure what to do about it. Do I *have* to kill them? I'd like to plant in that area, something low - I was going to put my sedum there, but no way, in case they attack the roots. Anybody know what are the natural predators of ants?
Otherwise, I don't feel like doing much today - I was really, really shattered by the time I got to bed yesterday, I'll fiddle about a bit in the house, and this afternoon I'll walk to the nearby village and have a looksee at the supposed 2 day arts festival - but thats that, as I'm off out tomorrow - I need my strength!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
My dad used to plant mint, or sage as that discouraged them, but not sure if that was just 'old wives' tales.
I occasionally think to myself, "I'll have a glass of wine tonight", but when it comes down to it, end up with a cuppa.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0
