Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
It always is - tonight I've decluttered a book, a set of freebie juggling balls, and a weird game I bought from the Moon Society when I was a member of the Mars Society - its probably based on orbital velocities, but its extremely naff
I've decluttered enough stuff to fill my wheelie bin - I'm having to use my garden waste wheelie bin as temporary storage... :whistle:
Do you read any Larry Niven, KC?Sorry to hear you're not too well, Z, whats up?
Just the usual. Takes my ages to get going, and now I can't sleep... :mad:Don't you swear at me:rotfl:I'm thinking of

Oh I love Larry Niven! I've just decluttered Ringworld, sadly :obut I'm keeping Fallen Angels and Footfall - they're both strong on fannishness; I met him at the World SF Con in Chicago about ten years ago, I signed up for a kaffeeklatsch, which was a dozen fans sitting around a table talking with him. I asked him a question about Lucifer's Hammer, which I can't find at the moment, and he brushed me off a little, but when he realised I really loved his characterisations, he gave me the truth, which was brilliant :j:j:j

Sorry to hear that :kisses3::kisses3:
Of...oiled men pole dancing?I think I was working up to being insulted that you'd even *pretend* I'd watch Jeremy whoosit :rotfl: but I kind of spoiled the effect with that. :rotfl:

Just been finagling about on the rail websites - I've fixed to do my usual-when-I'm-not-ill two monthly visit to my mum - but no *way* am I paying £85 return. I'd wait for megabus seats, but they don't have any rail journeys at the right time for me. So the main chunk of the trip is via London - Manchester - London, for £28.50 total. Little journeys at either end come out at £27 total, so thats £56, more or less. Not great, but still much better
I'm off to my partner's today, and I'll stop at the Wilko's in the intermediate town on the way back for various house-type thingshope everyone has a good'un - I like being able to get on here lateish in the evening, I hate it that my connection cuts out. Everyone play nice now! :cool::D:cool::D:cool::D

So how is something strong on fannishness, and what is fannishness anyway? (Apart from looking like a fannish...)"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
