Mmmm, parsnip cake, I've got a bag of them in the fridge....so it's carrot cake but with parsnips??
  • I love carrot cake, its somethng about the icing they put on top :).

Have fun in Peterborough, I worked there for many years, there are a few bits in the centre by the cathedral that are being altered at the moment but the catherdral is lovely.

Parsnip cake does indeed sound intriguing......I love making carrot muffins, with coconut and chopped nuts in - perhaps this is something I should revisit at the weekend, especially as they freeze well so are good for packed lunches :D

Have a good trip, KC, if I don't "see" you before!

who is this brian cox? ive heard his name a few times now and havnt got a clue who he is lol
Thanks for sticking the linky on, Ellidee! I don't find him at all fanciable, but I do love his manner - and I also think he was instrumental in changing recent documentary style - in the last few years, it was a case of portentous questions full of nothing at all for 40 minutes, and ten minutes of densely packed exposition at the end, which was putting me off watching any documentaries at all. Now, its like it used to be - question and answer all the way through, so you have a chance of retaining something. If you're awake :o

Thanks Cheery - I'd noticed *quite* how busy you are - a full time job and a long travel time will do that :rotfl:

That icing is great, isn't it - tho I suspect I'd now find it too sweet, because I don't eat refined sugar any more.

I didn't even realise it had a cathedral :o:o I've got the family addresses, I might well print out a map of the centre, and I still need to check out the town websites of each one (Peterborough, Ely and Cambridge) and I'm good to go.

Thanks for the good wishes all :) and yep, I can finally look forward to having some time away - that will be really nice :)

The computer is still giving me problems - my new download of Stopzilla doesn't seem to work properly, and the helpline people are *really* bad, unlike Samsung, and even unlike Virgin - so you *know* how bad they are. Plus my copy of Dreamweaver has decided to stop working - its an, um, private copy, shall we say? I think I can get my hands on another one, tho its not urgent.

The dentist ... hmmm. Maybe my last dentist was very good? I went to the appointment under Denplan, not NHS - and I'm used to having 15 minutes with the dentist, and a half hour with the hygienist, and I had 15 minutes with the dentist, they don't even have a hygienist, he gave me a quick swoosh over himself - but he was *really* nice, really professional, even tho hurried. Not sure what to do, because I'm sure that attention from a hygienist has been a big part of being so free from ongoing dental work.

Today, tho, is finishing off *stuff* online, like paying my Visa card, packing, tidying, and oh yes, paid work :)

    EDIT - hi Pippi!
