Gave myself a kick up the bum, have spent the last hour n half, cleaning the leather sofas, washing up (all the tins etc that won't go in the dishwasher) cooking tomorrow nights dinner, puting a load of washing on and tidying up the kitchen.:D
Am now sat with a cup of tea and a biscuit. Am about to go and get a car insurance quote online to get some free tesco points (car insurance not due...thank goodness, but I can change the date and get the points anyway)..I hope!

Horrible, horrible day. Mum had an appointment with the Parkinsons nurse which was close to home, dad picked her up and afterwards took her home to cook her tea. She ended up getting very upset as 'the girls were still in the house'. She ended up saying some really nasty things to my Dad, eventually telling him to sod off.
I then get a phone call from Dad who is in tears, he is really worried that, as in his words 'I think I have lost her, I don't think she will ever come home, I think she is going to have to stay in an institution for the rest of her life'.:(. Next thing Mum phones me from the hospital, worried that Dad is upset and that we are not looking after him:(:(:( She seemed quite lucid util she told me that the 'girls were in the car with them whilst he took her back to the hospital, and that Dad was letting them play with his hair:(:(. This is so !!!!!!, I hate to see her like this, in a way I am glad Dad opened up as sometimes he can appear not to care.
Sorry to ramble, sometimes its just nice to have an outlet for my emotions.

Ramble away all you like hon. Maybe your mum might not regain her full self, but there still seems to be so much of her there at times. Your dad probably is scared too, as they have lived with each other for a long time, and the husband/wife bond is a different one isn't it to parent/child. you at least still get back to a semi-normality where he is always experiencing it. I bet in some ways he is feeling a bit bereaved.
Here whenever you need it. xxx0 -

Glad you're all a bit brighterA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Sorry to have been AWOL while things were tough. Glad things have been a bit better. I know I find with my parents that sometimes I'm trying to help my mum, and sometimes I'm trying to be there for my dad as he cares for her and gradually loses more and more of the person she used to be. I'm sure they are both so grateful to have your support during this difficult time in their lives.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49

I'm struggling with it. I feel sorry for her family, and I know addiction is a terrible thing. But as someone that's been on the receiving end of addicts (both family, friends and strangers) there's a part of me that just thinks, at least the family can move on now...rather than constantly stuck in the cycle of trying to save someone that doesn't want saving.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25
