For those of us in debt, just a wee idea for inspiration. I don't know how you all budget but each month I have typed up a list of what's going out in each pay period, e.g.:

    4th - £100 Scottish Power, £153 Loan, £25 savings

You get the picture! Anyway I did one today that is what it will look like when we're debt free....

We will be able to pay all our bills and be comfortable, donate money to charity, and even if tax credits got scrapped we'd still be comfortable.

It's shocking how much your debts affect you even when you think "oh it's only £100/month for that bill".

Am now very motivated to be debt free. :)

I've done that before - I love it! The last page on my spreadsheet is a 'debt free' projection and it's amazing - like you we would be so comfortably off - I worked out that I could give myself £500 a month 'spending money' and still be able to save a massive amount each month.

    Can't wait!

    xx

£2 for me today please Julie :D
  • I signed up for free motivational texts through either Nicorette or Nicotinell online( I can't remember which) and I found them very helpful. They send a text in the morning to motivate you and then in the evening they ask if you have smoked that day. Good luck :happyhear
Thanks Allie, I'll check out the website this morning and see if I can find out how to get them. I'm back to OK this morning (for now) but I think they might help...

Pad today of £167.64 please Julie.

I hate banks. The one with my big overdraft is now charging me interest AND a monthly fee for using it!!

Hope your FIL gets better soon Booby, and :rotfl: at Sasha, sorry!

Which bank are you with? Maybe it's good motivation to get the little debts cleared first and then that OD - though if it's so huge would it not be worth consolidating to a PL you can pay off early...? Just a thought....tell me if it's useless...(sorry had one of those pms yesterday and now having one of those days)

    Hey everyone

Still no smokes but today the craving has kicked in, probably because DH (who is actually 47) has been behaving like an 13 year old in a moody teenage strop! maniac.gifWhy did I stop smoking?? I may just have to put myself outside of a glass or 3 of Merlot instead...

Had to jump online and PAD my new £2.51 daily figure (the saving from not buying ciggies!)

Friends are coming over for dinner later. We're having Roast Pork - yum! I'm sure DH will turn into charm personified when they all arrive, roll on 7 o clock!! frantic.giffrantic.gif

Sorry for ranting, but thanks for reading (if anyone did!) :D

I read it hun and hugs. I am also having a pants day already. Yesterday a woman in my old church died giving birth (yes it stilldoes happen in this country) and she was only 4 years older than me - there was no sun and I just got down - so in the end took prn (as required) meds and hit the midget gems and book in bed (my latest comfort) and read till I fell asleep....

So yeah - before I got this awful news I went and spent my PAD £ on card blanks from HC cos the ones that came off ebay/amazon weren't quite right and they were cheap. :).....And then spent (don't know how) £9 something on little bits and bobs...at least I finally got £45 of ebay monies onto OD.. -phew.....(I thought I did it before but didn't)

Anyhow that's been me - a derriere of a week with regards to finances :(....praying next week is better. Because I can do it...I just need God's grace (and one day my morning prayers were spirit less to boot which made me even more down)
