    Hi Beanie
With the other one I didn't get they were only going to take a 20% deposit with this one they are wanting a 25% deposit which is just under £2K more, denting my furnishing spends, hoping my parents will help me out with that one! :D

  • Hi everyone
I have begun to financially prepare for moving out - even although I don't have a move in date yet!

I have opened another Current Account and this is going to be used for my Food shopping and Fuel for my car.

    My Accounts are as follows:

PLATINUM CURRENT ACCOUNT – Salary gets paid in, Direct Debits, Standing Orders, All other bills.

EASYCASH – Weight Watchers pay, roughly £30 per month goes into this account and I am going to try hard not to touch it.

FUEL & FOOD - £270 transferred from PCA on payday each month to pay for all the petrol and food, at the end of the month the extra from the fuel will go into my Car Account and the remainder will be swept into my Emergency Fund.

CAR – Monthly savings for my car: MOT/Service, Insurance, Tax, Work Car Parking and any other repairs that are needed.
    Currently has £369 in it.

EMERGENCY FUND – All other emergencies, anything breaking down and such like.
    Currently has £200 in it.

HOLIDAY – As it says, for holidays including spending money.
    Currently has £587 in it.

VSP – My Virtual Sealed Pot, It’s a great way of saving for something special or again as an extra emergency fund! I use mine as part payment towards my speedway season ticket.
    Currently has £39.95 in it.

NIECE 1 – Savings that my brother and SIL don’t know I have, will give her the money I save on her 21st birthday.
    Currently has £165 in it.

NIECE 2 – Again my brother and SIL don’t know I have this and she will get the money I save on her 21st birthday as well.
Currently sitting at £0 transferring £5 when she is born on Tuesday and will be the same as Niece 1, £5 on payday into the account.

AMAZON CREDIT CARD – I like this card as I earn points every time I spend on it and get a £10 voucher for Amazon for every 1000 points (double points for buying from Amazon) works out roughly £1 per point but lower APR than other Credit Card I had easy online system. I am going to save the Vouchers to use on Christmas for 2013.
Currently has £173.79 on it, I will use my WW money this month and Emergency fund to clear it and then not use it unless buying from Amazon and pay it back straight away.

At the moment I transfer the following amounts into these accounts each month:

    Car - £75
    Emergency Fund - £50
    Holiday - £100

These will be reduced to the following per month when I move:

    Car - £50
    Emergency Fund - £25
    Holiday - £75

The savings for my nieces will stay at £5 per month as I want to be able to give them something special when they hit 21 I know that is 18.5 and 21 years away but I want to do it. :D

That is the beginning of my plan for my money, I have a rough budget already to go as well but I will post that once I move in.

  • Wow! Loving all the accounts :D you are super organised and it's what I'm trying to achieve! (some fell by the wayside this year :o)

Think the funds for your nieces is absolutely lovely :) ..... and both them and your DB & SIL will be super excited when the time comes!

Liking the look of the Amazon credit card and will have to check that out :T I've never bothered looking around for a different one (mine's paid in full each month so interest rate not an issue) - but if I could get some Amazon vouchers that would be fab as I buy quite a lot from there (incl dog's food)

Never used to be this organised Rising!
There is an Account tracker app that I found when I got my iPhone 4 in 2010 and it is one of the best £1.69 I have ever spent! I tried others but its the one I found easiest to use. You can set up your own groups and put your accounts into sections.

I have the following at the moment on my app. And I can tell you to the penny with it how much I have in each account!!

    Bank Accounts
    Platinum Current Account
    EasyCash
    Food and Fuel
Cash (this I put in as when I first got the app I was withdrawing money and then not knowing where it was going!)

    Mortgage
    1st Homebuyer
    ISA

    Savings
    Car
    Emergency Fund
    Holiday
    VSP

    Cash savings
    Coin Jar (Sealed Pot)
    £2 Coin Jar
    Xmas Work Fund

    Nieces savings
    Niece 1
    Niece 2

    Credit Cards
    Amazon

That is the secret to my organisation!
You can input direct debits, standing orders and any other monthly, weekly yearly outgoings you may have, and look ahead. For me I look ahead to the day after my last DD comes out my account and then from there I know how much money I have for me!

Stumbled on the Amazon Credit Card last year, I think I got 10% off my 1st purchase with it and they link it straight to your account, easy way to earn points for your gift voucher as they double them up with Amazon. :D
