I know a number of you offer a tutoring service and I'd appreciate any advice you can offer to me.
- Do you advertise via a website? Please could you explain where? How etc.
- Do you have business cards etc?
I'm guessing I need to set up a new email address to accomodate any email enquiries. Hmmmm....I'm quite excited about this now I know I can defo do it!Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Sorry, I have been a stranger from your thread. That is good news, I can't offer any advice but at least you will be able to relax a little. Will the money from your tutoring cover what you miss from DHs DJing? I have a renewed passion toward the MF dream so I promise not to be a stranger any longer.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I doubt it since he used to get £140 per week from DJing, but hey, every little helps.
I'm feeling much more excited and positive now. Although I think I've just talked my Head into mystery shopping! :rotfl: He keeps sending me jokey emails now. :rotfl:

We considered doing mystery shopping earlier in the year. We always eat out etc so thought maybe it would be a good idea but when I read the thread on here it made it sound very complicated so I gave up on that.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I have done all my lessons for year 7 and 8 up until half term - about to do the same for year 9!!
Twinklie how do you manage to do that? Does it come with time and experience? DH is terrible for lesson planning. In my logical female mind I know it would be a good idea through the first couple of years as it would make it easier and he would be able to go to a certain folder etc and get a specific lesson but he is not that keen to be organised :rotfl: maybe I should ask what he has taught each day, write and file them up and then show him after a couple of weeks, maybe that would inspire him...or maybe it will make him worse and expect me to do it all the time :eek:MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Well I'm having to be VERY organised this year because I'm not in a lab one day a week so can't do any practical work. So I'm sorting out the topics I'm eaching each day etc and what equipment I'll need. I have a basic outline of lesson and basic resources - but when I meet the classes I'll have to adapt everything to suit them. So you can never 100% plan in advance in my opinion. But I can tell you what I plan to do with each class between now and 21st October.
I think teaching science helps - you have to be organised and plan ahead to get the equipment you want.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

it does get easier the longer you've been teaching, although you are dependant on outside forces not constantly changing your schemes of work. It also depends on what classes you have. For example this year I have four year 7 classes. Mindnumbingly repetitive from a delivery point of view but planning will be a doddle, as one lot of planning will be the equivilent of 30% of my planning load. At the other end of the scale, I'll have 3 year 10 GCSE classes and each one will be following a different syllabus
different heads of department offer differing levels of support too. Some will plan a series of lessons for that module, others just give you a topic title and leave you to get on with it.
that said, Twinklie does seem scarily organised and, perhaps more importantly, self disciplined, when it comes to her planning, so i think personality comes into it too :beer:know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0
