you should treat yourself to a well done present. I'm buying myself a ukulele

I got loads of praise from SLT on behalf of science. And also for psychology. Mine was the only subject with 100% A*-C grades. Let's just ignore the fact that there were only two entered! Ha haReduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Four girls in my Chemistry sep science class have got 3 grades above their target in their first exam, and have blown my mind (1 got 100% on the paper). I really want to get them a little something to say well done. What sort of things would you recommend? I'm rubbish at getting pressies. I am going to use sweets as a general WELL done for all the kids in the class (they all did well).
I've made a quiz this morning to welcome back the year 11's and get their little brains going on the first day back....fingers crossed their brains take part. Where sells really cheap quality sweets incidentally? Also I teach lots of muslim children so some sweets need to be halal. Tips for buying cheaply?Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

When I've taught muslims they've mostly been fine with sweets as long as they don't contain gelatine. Meat products have to be halal but anything labelled as suitable for vegetarians is fine. Of course, I don't know if the muslims at your school interpret halal in the same way - I have no info, but imagine there are variations in interpretation and of course variations in strictness of observance - but that rule of thumb has worked for me with the ones I've come across.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49

Cool thanks, I'll check with the staff at work when we go back. We have sweets up this way labelled Halal as well. Don't know if that's because we are in a densely populated Muslim area or not.
My sim card arrived which is exciting. Means I can now sort out my email and business cards (as soon as I figure out what my mobile number is) Ha ha. But to be honest I'm in no rush to do much of anything today...feeling pretty tired.
DH was down yesterday he thinks his PhD isn't going to happen. Thinks he'll be stopped at an M.Phil due to funding and the fact they have brought in a post doc to carry on in his area. He was really upset about it but then I found a job near us that would be perfect for him. He doesn't know for definite but I was trying to cheer him up by looking at what he could do with an M.Phil. Unfortunately, I discovered that our quality of life would improve dramatically as would our financial position and we'd be able to afford an AMAZING house.
Is it wrong I'm secretly (or not so secretly because I've told DH) want his PhD to be stopped so he'll come home. He's in two minds either way because he really wants to do it...but then he really likes the alternative as well! Think of it this way - suppose you said you were desperate for his PhD to be allowed to continue because you were dreading the idea of having him at home full time. Now that would be very worrying. But is it wrong to want to have your husband living with you, with the added benefits of improved financial security and a nicer house? No, of course not. Just make sure you can put those feelings on a back burner while you listen to all of his feelings about letting go of the dream of being Dr, and of all his hopes when he started the PhD. You sound as though you're being honest about how you feel but not pressurising him to give it up or anything like that, which sounds about right to me.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49

OOOh I've told him I never would ask or want him to give it up. BUT, if it's taken away from him then it's got plus points to that as well. Bah...just wish we knew one way or the other. I've found some killer houses. :rotfl:Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

DH bless him is off looking for DJing work before going to see his dad. I'm so proud of him, he's been feeling a bit useless after getting let go (and finding out the guy has lied to him about everything). He's really worried about our finances and how we are going to cope, not being able to see each other enough.
I'm planning on cleaning the kitchen, making tea and sorting out some washing. Thats about it for tonight, think we are going back to Wales for the last week of the holidays tomorrow, if Belle will get in the car.
