Honey, sorry to hear your news. Can he do driving jobs?

Moderating - yes I've done it, more lucrative than marking, more hassle but not unbearable. Go for it.

Tutoring - can Belle go in another room? I wouldn't go to student's house either.

    Lots of love xxx

eta ticks - puppy was frontlined up to date and still got one - horrible.

Belle is always front lined up to date as well. :-( Evil tics! I've seen those tic removes, but have always managed with tweezers easy enough.

No other room to move Belle into unfortunately. One BIG room downstairs. Not to mention she would just scream anyway. Ha ha. There are no driving jobs round here that we have found. It's something he is looking into. He's even going to ask in the local tescos bless him. He is looking for stuff though. That said he's having an operation on his elbow next week so won't be able to start a new job for a few weeks anyway. Doh!

Also does moderation take place April/May or May/June?

What a blow Twinklie :(, so sorry to hear about OH losing the DJ job. It sounds like it was a great earner.

Not really sure what else to say, it sounds like you're thinking about all options at the minute. When you do get a chance to post your SOA I will see if I can comment then. Only thing I can thing of not already mentioned is whether your OH can teach as part of his PhD? He might already do so, so apologies if I haven't picked up on this. And perhaps there is a community hall or other neutral space where you could offer classes instead?

    Hugs.

I might be able to use my classroom yet, I still need ask on that score. It's a bit difficult doing it anywhere else. There is nowhere near school that I know of. And because I live 40 -45 mins away from where I work it would mean I would have to come straight home to see to Belle and wouldn't be able to go out to tutor till about 7. I have to be honest I don't fancy that. I know it sounds odd, but the traffic backs up where I live and rush hour lasts forever, making it difficult to get anywhere quickly.

Oh and the Welsh government who fund DHs PhD forbid him from teaching. Doh!

What about kids from other schools? And I have a friend who did A level tutoring in a coffee shop - if you know a quietish one;)

I would do kids from other schools, but that's where location becomes an issue. I wouldn't be allowed to tutor them in my classroom. Our kids would kill them on the way in. I will ask about though if head says no.

I still intend to mark Psychology. Just trying to decide whether to try two lots of marking at once or 1 marking and 1 moderation. If that makes any sense. Psychology marking is last week of may and first couple of June.

DH is at hospital for an operation in the morning and my stomach is churning. Not looking forward to it at all. He had a bad reaction to the GA last time and it's got me on edge a bit. :(

Still the bonus to it is that we are going to be home for part of next week so I'll have the internet and can start my crazy extra income search in earnest. :) And I'm going to try and crack on with some more of my school tasks. I'm hoping by Friday I'll have 1, 6, 7 and 8 done! Ambitious? Probably. :rotfl:
