Cheers. It's odd, I loved my form but couldn't wait to get rid at the same time. That said when they left I really missed them. Everyone says they were an awful group. I've yet to see it though. LOL.
I'm looking forward to having a form again.
We will do form quizzes etc. I have lots of ideas but we only have them 4 x per week for 25 mins. During that time we lose one to assembly, and I have to do merits and sign planners etc. We also have a behaviour credit raffle etc to do. So there isn't a massive amount of free time.

i theoretically have 20 mins a day with mine, but they have two assemblies so most times i only see them 3 times a week, and on those days several are pulled out for various literacy and numeracy schemes. Then there's peripatetic music lessons etc... it's a miracle I ever have anyone sat in front of me!

we enjoy watching the Oddbox on a Friday and it gets them talking about the news which is a good thing IMHO. I also have various Powerpoint games that we do when we have the time - riddles, tongue twisters, taboo, optical illusions etc. If anyone gets a mention on the school website or local paper for music/sport etc then I pull that up and we celebrate their achievements.

PM your email address if you'd like some bits and bobs. keeps them entertained and it saves you from spending ages putting things together for them.

Right progress has been made on the list. Woo hoo.

Slow cooker is on with a nice cheap meal cooking away - it smells lovely but it's making me hungry which is driving me nuts. :rotfl:

DH is doing my head in. He keeps giving the yey noises to moving. Then he keeps playing the what if game. What if the mortgage rates go up to 20%? We would never be able to afford the mortgage on the new house!! I don't know whats going to happen which is why I would suggest we fix. But I don't really know how to deal with those fears. At the end of the day I'm 30 and he's going to be 42 in December. Our current house is not suitable for children and he doesn't want to leave kids loads longer.

I'm going through some serious inner turmoil. I HATE HATE HATE where we live and the house included. But am I being selfish in wanting to move to a bigger house in a nicer area with a garden? Hmmm.... :(

It's a big list, but look how many things you have done already. You are making great progress. :)

About moving... perhaps you need to ask "what's the worst that could happen if...?" Is it better to risk getting into difficulty with interest rates (worst is you lose your house) or leaving kids too late for your fertility (worst is you can't have any) or you have kids without moving first (worst is you bring them up somewhere inconvenient, or get stuck living in a house you hate for ever) etc etc. You'll need to fill in a lot more detail there - I've just sketched a few bits and pieces of outline. Sometimes that way of looking at things helps to break you out of looking for a way forward that doesn't have any downsides, and frees you to choose the best of a bunch of less than perfect but nevertheless worthwhile options.

Good luck with it all anyway.

Our first house had a mortgage of £200 a month (i'm 29 but was lucky that I was 20 when we bought it which was just as prices started to go crazy). We lived in a 2 bed mid terrace in the centre of a village and lasted there 18 months. When we moved to our current home, a 3 bed detached in a fantastic area with great school catchment area our mortgage jumped to £750 and my nurse training was due to start soon after. BUT...we mananged and I can't imagine living in our old house and we certainly couldn't have raised children there (we used to have to park at the end of the road). You're not being selfish at all, you're planning for your future.

Thanks for the support guys. That's just it. I feel as though I am trying to plan for the future. Funny you should comment on the parking issue. Quite often I have to park round the corner, not nice considering the area and that I'm walking around very early with my laptop! Also, on match days we either abandon the car or have to be out all day. Depending on who is playing we have to go out with the car anyway to stop it getting damaged by footy thugs.

DH just called. Apparently our living room has been completely stripped by his dad! Very exciting. Ha ha.

Ah, you're not being selfish. It's always hard making such major decisions as moving house but as Lois says all you can do is weigh up the pros and cons. It doesn't sound like an ideal location where you are now though, esp on football days.

Thanks for making me remember to use my slow cooker again. For some reason I don't think to use it as much in summer, but I do love the smell of it bubbling away with something delicious in...
Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams :)
