it seems to be the new star spangled alternative to Powerpoint presentations

  • Prezi's a bit of an odd thing - has potential but I find it very fiddly to do and create things in real life. Certainly my kids can't handle the nature of it, and prefer the obvious examples that PowerPoint can generate.

Yeah I use it very sparingly. Usually only for form things to be honest. It makes me sea sick, I don't like it. But my form last year loved it. It's a bit fiddley at first but easy if you get the hang of it.

what do you do for/with your form? (sorry being nosey :D)

I'm carrying my year 7 group into year 8. determined to get to know them better this year. I feel like I know some of them very well and others I feel like I hardly know at all.

I perhaps should not have looked at that this evening after a couple of glasses of wine.

I am a bit glad I am no longer working, as that looks quite hard to create. I am glad that i can hear what you are up to though, as i stll feel slightly aware of new things in education.

Prezi is just a gimmick IMHO. Not the be all and end all.
I am getting a new form like I said that are yr 10. So I'm making a Prezi of a questionnaire they filled in during day on yr 7 to show them how much they have changed. Should be pretty funny. I want them to know I am taking a real interest in them. I think that makes all the difference.

  • Thanks, I will have a look at it. I think you are right, they love to see that you care. Good luck with them as they sound like a tough bunch. Individually they are probably fab but we all know how collectively they can become a gang...
