    Hiya
Can someone please explain 'dropshipping' to me and why it can be a scam? Is it something you might come across on Ebay?

Alas, the SoW totals are about to take another hammering as I've signed up to a new gym scheme - still cheap for what it is, but it's a year's worth this time so there's no way I can fit it into what I've allowed, which was only for a quarter. Can I just alter the first column on the totals page? (I've mucked up the SoW more than once and don't want to do anything silly.) :o

Minnie, I am half way between Frugaldom and other people who've responded to your work hours. I agree that determination is admirable (I think we all agree on that one) and also that the body sends us signals, but it's precisely when we are stressed that we sometimes stop listening to them. I'm definitely talking from experience here - I once took a big wodge of paperwork on holiday with me - completely barking since I could have done it at home if I hadn't been so overtired, and guess what? I didn't do it on holiday either, but having it in my suitcase sure spoilt the trip and I fretted every day that I should have done my paperwork by now. I did that insane thing because being overstressed had eroded my judgment. It happens while you're not aware of it...so do look after yourself. x

I wasn't sure how it can be a scam so I googled and found this - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1175399 which has more links to a drop ship forum where you can check if it s a scam or not.

The way I do it is that I have a website that advertises an item. If someone buys it the money goes to me then I pay the person who makes the thing to send it out directly to the customer. I get a small commission for getting the sale in the first place. I don't do it through ebay though. It is just that the thing I am selling is quite a niche thing and I have a brand that people know a little so it helps me to make a bit more £ and the manufacturers to get more sales. I don't make much for it but for the cost of hosting a website and the seconds it takes to paypal someone and email over the details it is worth it.

Yeah, she takes out the amount u tell her on a friday (payday) and pays it all on saturday mornings and brings in the reciepts same day and leaves them for u behind the bar. i work every saturday night so i can collect mine then.
i'll double check but im sure the leaflet didnt mention any interest...

You dont get interest with the credit union, you get a dividend payment, (unless your a under 18 child saver) the dividend depends if your credit union shows a profit from the interest repaid on all the loans at the end of the year, the smaller the credit union the less chance of a dividend payout, but as the rate of the interest is so low on the loans you save more money using a credit union then you ever would using a bank, savings are a safe as they are protected by the same rules as a bank, its a win win situation

I change the figures in the annual budget column quite regularly over the course of the year, so you shouldn't have any problems doing so :)

But if you do have problems you know where I am ;)

My gob is well and truly smacked after reading about Sanjay and Christina, and their £100K plus income but their regular £2000 plus overspend - but I'm sure they're not on their own.

I know so many people who buy outrageously expensive things, and say "I owe it to myself" or "I deserve it", but then moan about their debts. And I also know people who have a good income, but are tights as a duck's a*se, when it comes to putting their hands in their pockets - as I'm sure we all do.

I love a bargain, and don't like to waste money, but we all need a life, and enjoy a spend. :) This site, and its members, has taught me that, as in life, there are others better off than me, and others worse off. Similarly, some of you are far more inventive than I could ever be - but that's what's so great about this site. :T

I was stunned at some of the debts that I read about, but equally stunned at the determination and fortitude that so many of you have shown, and how you're reducing those debts. We're a fine ol' bunch, us fragalistas, and each and every one of us should be proud of our achievements!

Well done to all of us! :T :T :T

  • Hello all,
Are ready for the big TV event? I have booked my TV time ready. lol
Today was a low spend day. Wednesday afternoons is my volunteer slot in the church's charity shop and I always end up with a few little bits.
I picked 3 side plates to add to my willow ware collection (50p each), an enamel bowl (10p) and a "new baby" card (10p) for sister in law.
Also picked up some milk for tomo's brekkie. I also popped into my local Aldi to peek at the wool they are selling but none of the colours really appealled to me apart from the white and I have plenty of that already.
Hope we are all doing okay!

hello everyone, how nice to have more fab words of encouragement from Sandra Scarlett - thank you hun!

Frugaldom - seeing as you seem quite experienced in the field, can i ask if you know any good websites that list the things you have to do when you move? i'm totally overwhealmed by it all. we have wiggle room on the date we leave here, but its aroundabout a month and i cant ignore it any longer.

Thanks Dizzy Lizzie! the link wouldnt work but are yo-yos those things that are puffy? i think i saw a linen skirt on SouleMama's website where she had a stain and sewed a few puffy circles of fabric onto it to cover the stain and it looked brilliant. they had an odd name, so i think it was them.

today i paid in a work expenses cheque for 80quid, moving straight into savings:j, so i dont notice it hopefully as i spent our for work back in feb, and then treated myself to a 1.00 sewing project in the charity shop! and my OH wants 'change of address' cards/notes for his family (mine are getting emails or free minutes phonecalls!)... and happily i found a pack of 10 for 50p in the CS - a bit 'olde worlde charm' but they'll do fine for auntys ect. so i've spent 1.50 today!

but i am too scared to look at my SoW. and i need to update it badly. But i know i've not spent much on food this week or last... i've been freezer & pantry diving instead... tonight we're having something with mushrooms and woospied stilton, with a packet of strawberry blamange(sp?) that i bought on a whim about 4 years ago:o i hope it's still ok and works with soya milk! (at least it'll be soft!)

    Evening All,
Please add me to your list, I'm going to log every spend from 1st April. I have been living frugally for a while, love a bargain and hate wastefulness of any sort. I've been logging grocery spends on the grocery challenge board and adding NSD's to my sig.
I'm a fan of grow your own and hunt out free seeds, food for nothing is brilliant.
I would like to save at least £200 a month by living frugally, going to go from pay day to pay day and see how how I do.
I'm already saving £300 into an FD reg sav at 8%, due to mature in Jan 2012. This site has helped me so much and I give back when I spot any good deals.
I've been paid today so here goes.
    Mongy
    Jan GC £28-49/£120 NSD's 15/17
    Dec GC £90-90/£140 NSD's 17/18
