ahh pants, am over budget this month and am going to see my folks this weekend so that will be £30 on petrol plus food on the way down - I go to the Sainsburies cafe cos it is a whole lot cheaper than services and we will probably have tea there on the way down and dinner there on the way back - usually costs about £8 for me and my son to eat and drink so it is not a lot of money but it means that I start the month on an overspend :-( I'm starting to worry that £60 a week is just too difficult but it shouldn't be - a lot of you manage on a lot less.0

Welcome Mongmoney!
Minnie, wow! At "my worst" I was 40 hours (main job), 20-25 hours (2nd job), approx 15 hours (uni) - it was actually OK when I was doing it and only when I stopped that I realised how much I'd been doing! I couldn't go back to it now.....
Went for a swim this afternoon and I really enjoyed it! Only managed 12 lengths as ankle was starting to get really sore (only 2.5 weeks since cortizone injection - didn't want to keep going in case I ended up ruining the good it's doing).
There were only 2 people in the pool (2pm) and the changing rooms were right next to the pool so I didn't have any problems with falling over on the way (after removing my glasses). Will def be going back next Weds!
Popped to Mr T on way home as needed milk (only it and Mr A sell the milk I use) - spent £37:( but did manage to save £24 through buying stuff on offer.
If anyone uses a lot of cereal they've got some really good offers: buy 1 get 2 free, "trial" boxes (normal size) for £1 etc.
Just found out there's a car boot near me in a couple of weeks so must really get sorted out to take some stuff - not sure how many people will be there as only a local one and it's a pay in advance which is a bit of a pain (assume no-one will turn up if it's chucking down).
However, the advantages may be worth giving it a go: "Only" £10 (which is quite a bit cheaper than the others): a lot nearer (so less fuel needed): would need to leave at 8am (rather than 5:30:eek:) and only for 4 hours.
That's my weekend sorted then!
Still haven't found the stick with the SoW - cats have hidden it good and proper this time. Have it backed up to end of Feb on pc so may need to re-enter March again:( - nevermind.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Been to Weston-super-Mare today as delegate at a meeting. My 3 colleagues went out for lunch, but I took a sandwich as trying not to draw out any more cash. Made bread last night, got up early to slice it, made filling from cheese plus a bit of a weird salad (smallest leaves from purple sprouting broccoli, a little chopped onion and a bit of mayo) and, do you know, it was delicious!! Washed it down with a flask of coffee.
Did spend a fiver though - needing a new handbag, and I like backpack ones as they help stop my back from aching - found a cheap plain black one on sale in a sports shop for £4.99!!
Will do my accounts for March tomorrow evening - all will be revealed!
All the best to everyone!Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!0 -

Frugal Living for fifth year running. (2010-2015)

I totally agree Lola. It needed to be an hour and much more in-depth. I also think that the initial view of the frugal woman who spent £10 a week on groceries and foraged for nettles would be really offputting to people who are dipping their toes in the frugal waters. Too much too soon?0
