23rdspiral, grrr, that is very cheeky of them but glad you are getting some hours so you're not spending petrol money for nothing. Hope you enjoyed the choccy. :) Hope you'll be ok - I know that jangly mess feeling very well! Take care hon. x

((((((Jayne)))))) and fingers crossed for you that it goes ok giving the bad news. It feels horrible doing it but at least you're not keeping him dangling - much better for both of you in the long run.

Erme - hope you're ok after your stressful encounter in the PO - and well done on selling the Kindle. What will you do with the money you get for it? x

Hope everyone else is ok - I too have seen more and more mentions of redundancy, paycuts etc and my heart goes out to everyone facing it. xxx
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

    Hello,

Thanks for the good wishes SF and Nuala - it went ok actually, I knew the thought of it would be worse but still not nice. We're still going to be friends and parted with a hug so am relieved.

Have spent the rest of the evening trying to make sense of my figures as I've overspent in some areas and needed to make sure the money was in the right place (I have several 'pots') Also decided to use the money set aside monthly for big annual expenses to put towards the cc debt so it will get paid off earlier and save money over the year - figure if there's an unexpected expense in the meantime, I can use the cc but will be no worse off - does that make any sense. It did in my head!!

Well off to bed now, see you all soon x

Hi all, hope everyone's hanging in there. I haven't been able to keep up with all the posts at all but I've been faithfully completing my spreadsheet...January figures: £913 spent against £687 budget, this includes a holiday so hope to catch up later in the year - maybe even February :D

Top tip: Type your post in a Word/Notepad document first then copy and paste it over. It means that if the internet eats it you won't have lost all your thoughts :D
  • Thanks f_f but I'm ashamed to say I cant do what you ahve suggested.I'm computer illiterate, well not totally but nearly, I shall ask my brother how to do as you say when I next see him. In Janet and John words how can I save your post so he can read it?

HI, this morning I tried to post my long message and my dodgy thumb did its worse and I deleted the lot. I felt really p***** off and was going to go into the garden and eat worms but it was to cold ....so I didn't and cleaned my windows instead. Far more useful and warmer!.

patentgirl am so sorry to hear your bad news, what a shock!

23rdspiral sorry you didn't get what you wanted from HR but who knows there may be some good that comes from going the day they want even if not connected with your job. Don't ask me what I mean 'cause I don't know.

Please will somebody tell me what BTW means I keep seeing it and just ignore it because I don't understand it.

Erme stay focused and don't let your day throw you off balance keep saying, I will survive, or sing it if you want to. :D

Now I'm excited because I found my lost post whilst I was shutting down. Whoohoo.
