    Morning folks :D

I had a bit of spending yesterday but am counting it as a NSD as I won't be paying for it until Friday - hopefully that makes sense! I'm in dire need of a haircut and saw a deal on Groupon for £18 instead of £55 so jumped at the chance! I have a note in my diary to transfer the money to my credit card on Friday when I'm paid, so that will be a spend day but yesterday won't! I'd rather take that money out of wages than my savings account.

Apart from that, yesterday was very frugal. I took lunch to work with me, so saved money there, and will be doing the same again today. I am also travelling for work today so my dinner will be paid for and there will be minimal opportunities to spend money as by the time I get to Englandshire I'll be knackered :D

    Better go and pack now...!

Spent all day yesterday ill in bed so almost a NSD but realised we needed milk, eggs and a few bits and bobs. I had to send the kids along to get the stuff and they managed very well and bought me a bunch of flowers - very sweet of them if not very frugal!
Off to the docs this morning so that Will cost.
    Trying to keep in budget.

Hi everyone, just want to record that Sunday was a NSD!!! went for a 'free' walk but OH paid the parking, 2 seconds before a nice man offered me his ticket!! oh well. OH didnt mind supporting the WaterWays Trust. and OH bought curry for us and 2 friends, but they'll buy us the same 'banquet offer' next month, and it did us for 2 meals!!

Couldn't resist whoopsies in Mr T - went to a different branch with much more organic stuff and there were several bits reduced. Maybe I should have resisted as I already have so much veg but it's in the fridge and I hope it will keep for a while. The thing that looks closest to going off is a bag of pears for 65c. Apart from just eating them as snacks, any ideas on using them up or could I bung them in the freezer? Also I got baby sweetcorn for stirfries for 1/8th the price I paid at the organic market on Sat. I still prefer to give the market my money than Mr T though but can't help getting excited at bargains!

Nuala I also got a bag of whoopsied pears from Mr S. I'm planning on stewing them for crumble either to have in the next few days or to freeze for the future.

i walked to Coop last night for sandwich stuff and got bread (blimey my whoopsied 'real' loaf was 35p, but full price it was 1.39:eek:). I'm very happy i managed to get some Boursin and Camembert for 25p & 29p not 1.25 & 1.99 :). so the shop cost me 2.96 and full price would have been 12.45!! :j (though we woulnt have had the camembert!)

I decided this year that any eating out i did alone e.g coffees getting a sandwich at lunch would come out of my grocery budget to encourage me to make and take food with me, hopefully cutting down the waste at home.

If i eat out with someone it all goes in the socialising budget
    :D

Brilliant plan Summertea. doing it that way would further help me avoid the odd subway lunch!

redglass - thanks re info about the spreadsheet. i think i'll do that too, as we dont eat out that often either but when do it's for bdays ect so fairly obvious. i'll add a 'comment' to the cell if i need to. Cheers! oh, and congrats on being conuslted on managing money. you must be dead chuffed!

hi dizzy lizzie, i've not said what i do with the fabric, you're memory is fine! i really enjoy sewing and making things for friends and family - everything from tissue holders to quilts! although i ususally use upcycled fabric from cloths, what i bought that day was mostly for a new patchwork quilt... it'll keep me busy for months!

midwinter - i pick up found coins too :) but i keep them seperate to buy an artizan made art/craft item i wouldnt otherwise be able to own.

    Morning fellow frugalistas :D

Heading for a frugal NSD today after yesterdays spend~fest :o Supper is sorted, pasta bake using left~over half price gammon and have no intention of spending any pennies at all.

It is a lovely day today, if a little chilly, so have wrapped up and turned the heating off - how daring  It's had a bit of a hammering just recently as it's been so cold so will hope to claw a little back. If I feel cold later on, I will light the open fire NOT rush for the thermostat!

  • Morning, decided to do all shopping today so hopefully tomorrow i can have a nsd.

went shopping with my list ( on my phone never forget that)

stuck to it apart from they had some fish whoopsied at Mr T's so i bought that instead of 1 lot of the meat i was going to get.
Velvet toilet tissue is still £3 for 9 and you can get a 50p coupon off there site which i also remembered to take. so £46.97 for shopping,

then had to pay 70p to park so i could go to bank to PAD, paintbrushes for dd for school,£10.20 gone up by 21p because of VAT.£1.99 for glue stick, she doesnt like Mr p'lands as they dry up.and since super***g was over the road i purchased a paper to get the 2 free gifts so that was 45p.
went to collect my goodies and was told to make it fairer to other customers and because stock was low, i could only have 1 item, which was different to advertised, chose the face mask and it was £ 2.49 .

and lastly on way to school this afternoon i will have to get petrol:(
i feel chuffed with how easy it was with a bit of planning.i would be in a better financial position if i had done this years ago.
