Hope you have a peaceful sleep Nuala :) Will share any revelations from the book that make me go like this :j :)

I've got Don't Sweat The Small Stuff too and it is a good book. The Chicken Soup For The Soul books are good too.

    :THi eveyone,

Can I please join? I'm trying to cut waste, use what I have in the cupboards and reduce costs in order to save for a home of my own.

    Welcome gelmc

Just a quick post and run today. Had a good weekend filling the freezer so packed lunches won't take long. OH is not so sure about having Scotch Broth every day though :rotfl:

A spending day today as I have a hairdressers appointment. I did miss out last months though and that money is now in the savings account. OH cut his own hair (hair trimmers) and I tidied up what he couldn't see. So no money spent there.

Catch up with you all later
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D

    Morning all!

A frugal week is planned here in Fresian Towers. I get paid on Friday and have £13 sitting in my spends account. My plan is to PAD £1 per day from tomorrow which would leave me with £10. If I need cash I can withdraw that £10, but my ideal plan will be to spend no cash *eek* and to PAD an additional £10 on Thursday night.

In terms of achievability - I have my packed lunch for today/tomorrow sorted. We are going to need milk/bread this week but I'm hoping it's when I'm away on Tuesday/Wednesday for work so Mr Fresian buys it :D If not, I have £2 in the groceries account.

With being away for work, any food spends will be reclaimable and my travel is already paid for, so there shouldn't be extra spending there as long as I remember to take a book with me! I do have plans to go for drinks on Thursday but this comes from my entertainment budget which still have over £45 in it, so will pay for drinks using my credit card and repay that from this budget (earning Clubcard points on cocktails seems to decadent!)

Frugality so far this morning....have done my posts on B!ngoport and played through those points, meaning I have 800 more points than yesterday and am one step closer to redeeming. I just need to keep doing this instead of getting bored and playing all the points! I have also entered some competitions on the main board, although I need to enter more than I'm doing at the moment to have any chance of winning!

Hope everyone has a lovely frugal day!

Vaguely recall reading an article about it one time - wasnt it a daughter of Esther Rantzen that had ME or something? - and this worked miracles for them. I just remember my overall conclusion was "Worth a try for anyone in that position..".

It may or may not do the same for other peeps of course.

Howling wolf are you going to fix your mortgage rate again? We have been on a fixed rate for 2 years and ours is coming to an end in April. Don't know whether to fix again and how long for? Do you think the rates will go up a lot?

I have lost track a bit with UK interest situation, but an idea if you are concerned about it going up before your current term expires; if you talk to your lender they may be amenable to locking you into the current rate in advance for the next fixed period you choose. I didn't ever use fixed rates when we were in the UK, but now I do and our bank lets us renegotiate the rate upto sixty days in advance of the expiry date. You have to sign your life away as usual and say if the rate goes down that you accept the rate that you were offered on such and such a date but it would be worth looking to see if you can be a proactive in advance rather than accepting the inevitable at the last minute, as rates probably only have one way to go now.

Thank you so much for that link, although the dough was hard to work with it made the most delicious bread! I had no complaints unlike in the past and even garnered some compliments!:)
I'm going to try this for sure :)

Thank you for the mortgage advice kiwisaver, I am going to make apponitments with my current lender and a FA for next month. Our current fixed rate is quite high, I think it's 4.99 or maybe even 5.09% so I want to fix a bit lower ideally if we fix again. I do like knowing what's coming out ever month so we probably will.

Phone call from my friend this morning, school is shut, water problems! So DS1 and my friends son are currently mario karting downstairs! DS2 gone to pre-school though. Good in a way as I was contemplating a look round the shops, NSD today hopefully!

Really pleased with how it's all gone in the first week, thank you all for your suport / advice

Dont think its very secretive! it does cost a bit of money though!

The idea from what i remember is they get rid of the adrenalin etc

my friend hadnt walked for many years either so they had to work on changing her thoughts too, after they had sorted the ME so that she wasnt still in the mind set that she couldnt walk.

They also teach you process to do whenever you so wish if you ever start to feel tired again etc

Im sure my friend would be happy to email you about it!! She was bed ridden and in darkness for 10years industrial headphones to block out all sound window blacked out and a mask on, no light.just laid there and now shes at uni (10years later than planned) having a whale of a time.
Frugal living challenge - need to revisit its been.a while !! Need to reduce our debts!!
