Just had a skim through the posts and read that someone had some pear and stilton tart for lunch. OMG, that sounds awesome!

That was me! And it was!
It was reduced in Waitrose. I didn't even know they did reductions but I got some great things to go with the boxed cheese my daughter brought back from France. Everything I got was reduced except the bread I went specifically to get and some barrel aged feta which was the best I've tasted. I was very happy!

Another thought, my mum gave me her old engagement ring and wedding ring a while ago to do with what I liked. I'm thinking about selling them (my parents are divorced so don't feel like they are really a good thing to keep/wear/melt down into something else).

Has anyone sold any gold? Is it best to go to a jeweller rather than one of these websites? The engagement ring has a diamond in it.

I'm sure there's a section on this site/thread on the forum about it, so i'll go and take a look for that. Just wondered if anyone here had any experience of it. :)
My sister in law works in a jewelers in Hatton Garden I could ask her what she thinks if you like.

That'd be great, thank you! :j No hurry! :)
  • I'm not sure what carat the ring is but if it's 9 I could get £13 for a wedding ring according to Martin's guide - you get £20 more than that for a gold tooth!:rotfl:

Price currently is just under ten pound a gram, every time I have sold, these were the best rate payers http://www.hattongardenmetals.com/scrap-gold-prices.aspx
