SeptemberAnyone seen the Groupon deal for Geechy Guy at the Rio and one free cocktail $19. I'm tempted, but not sure whether to do it or not. We'll be staying at the Rio anyway, so might be ok.
Has anyone seen him - supposedly on America's Got Talent - wonder if anyone saw that or knows if he's good?0 -
November / Decemberwouldn't advise it
camera's may be a bit tricky t return if broken and the price different wont be that much to USA (huge difference if going far east)
also you will need to play with the camera before taking it on holiday if you plan to get the most out of it while away
Next time I go back to vegas I really want to get hold of a good fisheye lens...
I've used it before already in uni which is why I'd decided to get that particular one, but I think I'd rather get it before I went away anyway incase something was wrong with it, or something happened.0 -
MayGreetings from stinking hot Phoenix
To keep on topic my friend has just arrived here from Vegas and says it's even hotter here than Vegas (she lives there)
I changed my plans and came early-originally I was going to fly from Washington to Phoenix last night via Chicago but decided it was cutting it too close with the weather warnings and cancelled my Washington plans and flew Baltimore to PHX at 7am instead direct with US (able to change at no cost due to the weather waivers in place). Whilst I was in the air all the eastern airports shut down so I got out just in time !
Currently staying out at the airport at La Quinta which is an absolute bargain at $49 and more than lives up to its TA reviews. Shuttle is great as will take you anywhere within 5 miles -so can be used to get to light railway into the city as well as places to eat -shopping malls etc. Nice pool, free breakfast and internet and comfy beds .
Next stop Vancouver-and then home (supposedly) via Newark but if the weather waiver is extended may change that too.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Perfectspace wrote: »Hi all
Got back from our 3 week west-USA tour yesterday (SD, LA, Yosemite, DValley, LV, GC, MValley, Denver, Estes Park). Here's the Vegas part.... Restaurants come after.
Glad you had a good time Perfectspace. If you fancy posting a TR on the other, non-Vegas parts of your trip here then I for one would love to read it0 -
Anyone here stayed at Palms? Lots of recent negative reviews on tripadvisor but wanted to know if anyone here has first hand experience. Im guessing it takes about 30 mins to walk to strip.illegitimi non carborundum0

We never take a change of clothes in our hand luggage - though it's not a bad idea...as for washing bits - you'll be limited to things in containers of 100ml or less - and the hotel will have shower gel, shampoo/conditioner, face soap anyway...so unless you have some special need for particular things, put stuff like that in your checked luggage. On direct flights it's probably less likely that your bags will go astray.
Virgin's website will give you details of what your carry-on allowance is - one item, specific size, 6kg limit...last I checked they seemed to have done away with the 'personal item' like a handbag/laptop in addition to your 6kg carry-on...this annoys me...makes our choice to fly AA that much better with carry-on + personal item that much more justified...actually, looking at it.. you can still take a handbag - but a laptop, no...weird.
Have you pre-selected your seats?Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

We can't pre-select our seats until we have our tickets we've tried a few times with seat locator code but it won't let us do it, because we booked via Thomas Cook . 4 weeks today and it would have been ideal to pre-select as there's 10 of us!:)December 2011 Sesky Watch, strimmer, tv, hoover & steam cleaner. Just a rumor BUT possibly LV cabbies will be blocking the Strip at 11am tomorrow in protest at new medallions issued.
So don't try and get a cab or drive on the Strip!!!
