I had been watching Cosmo prices on an almost daily basis since the turn of the year.

For my nights the premium view 1 bed was never less than $160 plus tax a night and then a few months back it went up to $240 plus tax a night and has stayed there ever since, thats why i jumped on the netflights deal

they're 'selling' premium view upgrades at check in for $25 a night which we've done and works out cheaper than if we'd booked it online when we did. There is the risk of a view room not being available when you check in so depends how important it is to you.

Having said that the view is fantastic, the rooms are great too. We've just got in from the pool. We went to the pool on the east tower and that is far better than the one on the west. Its worth the 10 min walk to get there.

Also to end .... secret pizza on the 3rd floor - quality!! ninja turtles would love it

If you want to keep prices down then look at the Orleans -it's off Strip but has a FREE very regular shuttle takes 10 mins and drops you at Bill's right in the centre of the Strip. Their casino is really nice and food is really good value and their rooms are huge and clean. The Gold Coast is also worth looking at-same shuttle deal but has the advantage you can walk to Rio or Palms from the hotel . It's one of my favourite hotels for value I've stayed there several times.

Do you have to be staying at the Orleans to use the shuttle? Or just cheeky? :p

I got the premium view upgrade just by asking nicely at check in at Cosmo, she handed me back my $20 so wasnt expecting anything. The view and the room were amazing best I have ever stayed in, shame it was only for 1 night.

The view is important, its the only reason we are staying at the Cosmo.

I dont normally pay for upgrades/views etc when booking, I usually hope for the best on check in, but it is mine and my dads birthday and I wanted it to be special for my parents it helped that the price was right with netflights

Can you hear the music from the fountains on the 29th floor?

Same question to anyone who has stayed in the west tower on any floor

Going to Vegas for 10 days in October (second time for me, first for my partner) Flying from Manchester with US Airways (£963 all-in) and staying at Tahiti All-Suites on W. Flamingo for £409. Looks OK with good reviews - most of the negatives are centered around having to take out your own trash! The kitchenettes seal it for us as that is what we prefer. Anybody else ever stayed there?

Would I be better joining various player clubs now or waiting till we are there? A friend is going early September so I have asked him to bring some discount booke etc. back. All tips re flight, hotel, stay most welcome

if the conditions are right you can just about hear it but it is fairly quiet. You have to hope the winds in the right direction and there isnt too much traffic noise and you might get to hear it. Yesterday we watched them and couldnt hear a thing. However, today we could hear it (just)

With regards to paying for the upgrade, I tried asking nicely, started having a nice chat with the girl behind the desk and thought i might be getting somewhere but the receptionist wasnt interested as soon as I enquired about the view rooms, she went straight into sales pitch mode and it was that or nothing.

edit just checked this morning and it is down to $230 plus tax
This might help you on Cosmo front. We're going to Vegas for 9 nights in October and in theory, I can get Cosmo for around £820. Marriott wesite has price match guarantee plus further 25% off. I've seen CityRooms for £1096 cancellable on LowCost site (cheaper if prepaid) I was tempted but not keen on Queen room.

Found potential Venetian deal. I've been trying on Priceline name your own price for 9 nights in October without much success going up to around £850. It's likely that the Hotel would be Venetian but price difference isn't that great compared to knowing 100% we'd be staying there.
Anyhow, Travelrepublic have a sale on and it's £970 so you could book with any of the Agents on Quidco offering 12% cashback on cancellable rate, do a price match guarantee down to £970 then still get potentially 12% cashback off your original £1200 booking once trip is completed bringing trip in at around £830.
Good deal if it works ?

I never saw the option of either or when i signed up, guess that means my 25% off will have expired and I may not get my free birthday meal :(

Sorry I wasn't clear. It's two separate things. When you sign up you get an email for 25% off the bill to be used within about a month IIRC.

You also get a separate email in your birthday month for a free dinner worth $47.

If there are just 2 of you it's 6 and 2 3's which you use as the discount is the same.

Not sure of the T&C's of the 25% off, but that would be better if there are more than 2 of you.
