in terms of where to sit on a plane, what do you prefer?

seats have just become available on my flight (VA) for the solitary 3 rows in the centre aisle at the front of the plane, between the 2 galleys, just behind premium economy (?) ... rows 22 & 23.
    much quieter?

currently have 2 seats of 3 booked on one side of the plane near the front (row 29)

    seat plan:

Based on this would consider limited recline for row 23.

we would always go for a pair at the back if available, even if it meant a longer queue at immigration...but that's just us...otherwise if we're stuck with a random stranger, hubby would always want a window if he could...to us, sitting in the middle section of any row would be our last choice, but that's just us.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

    thanks ferf :)
all back pairs are taken... we have a window seat + middle-of-3 seat in row 29 currently... i'm thinking the move forward to the mini-cabin would have advantages of being quieter, earlier off the plane (though not a huge problem) and although the middle section, it's only 3 rows and would mean we wouldn't have to worry about getting up for anyone/disturbing a stranger if we wanted to get out for the loo/leg-stretch...

    hmm decisions!

We had booked our seats with VA and the 2's at the back were all taken but every now and then I log onto my seat plan and one time the 2's were available so changed my seats. There are six of us so managed to get 2 2's and 2 in the middle. So if you did want those keep checking as they might pop up available, unless you're going the same time as us!:)

;) A few of us have filled our boots already. I saved about £100 (plus the buffets!) from my original booking which I cancelled.

This was in today's unlisted promos from smartevegas. I have not done any spot checking to see if the rates are just higher than they would be on other promos which we know is sometimes the case...but since it's not restricted to the buffet in the hotel you are staying at it may be interesting to check out anyway...I'm not sure we could eat a buffet a day, even different buffets...but depending on what the rates are like, may be an option.

OK I did one bit of spot checking and lots of date at $32/night for Excalibur...which seem to be the same rate as the 'special online rates' through smartervegas -without 2 free buffets per day. It seems there must be a catch as (igorning the resort fee) you could probably come close to the value of the 2 free buffets netting off against your complete room charge.

Book two nights and receive two complimentary meals at any MGM Resorts buffet everyday of your stay!

This offer is valid for breakfast or lunch only at all participating outlets with the exception of Monte Carlo, where it is valid for brunch only, and Luxor, where brunch is included. Bellagio and The Signature at MGM Grand are not participating in this promotion. Chin Chin at New York-New York is not included in this offer. Buffet is only valid once per day, per person (maximum 2 people per room, $20 per person). This offer does not accumulate if unused. Offer is not valid for dinner and gratuity is not included. Some properties may require a coupon to be presented at the buffet for redemption. These coupons will be provided at check-in.

Code is ZBUFG11, but I'm not sure if just putting that in the promo code box on the website works - so here are links (again, lifted from the aforementioned email - sorry if everyone has it already)

hehe I'll keep my eyes peeled :)
if it was a flat choice between our current seats (window row 29) and the 'mini cabin' which would you choose?

I cant get over some of the rates I mean from $55 a night with two buffets at NYNY, OK I know you have to add the stealth (resort) fee but even so this si amazing value. I was speaking to my friend who owns Nitetours he was saying that most of the hotels are again running at about 90% at weekends with the more expensive hotels being more full than the cheaper ones. Now I have the little one I will be staying with him and his wife in their lovely house at Red Rock but at these prices it is worth booking a room at say Excalibur and getting the free buffets and having the advantage of a room on the Strip for the little one to have a nap.

I'm staying in the Mirage, $79 a night midweek is incredible value. More money to lose, sorry, gamble with! :D

ah yes good point, I couldn't remember which order economy disembarks.
I quite like the idea of that mini-cabin, though understand it can be used for babies (though unlikely on a LV flight?!)

not too fussed about a window seat for the view as this is our 2nd trip :)

I usually sit in the small cabin when we fly VA to vegas as my wife is allocated the seat through special assistance.
Ive seen babies on at least 6 of the 12 flights ive done.
Saying that, every single one was good as gold and a credit to the parent(s)

My favourite hotel in Vegas the only (decent) hotel that still has bit of old Vegas charm left in it. We had a penthouse suite there after our wedding and on my last trip after we had just won $11.5k on a $15 let it ride bet at Venetian we lost $800 playing roultette and then won about $4k on poker (table game). the buffet is the nuts and a great pool. I am very jealous
