You hit the nail on the head there. I phoned up the other place that had a similar deal and they said that meal would cost $200 for the 2, but the value was put at over $300 with the club access. I was told that the waiter would require the tax on the $300 and a gratuity of course.

The gratuity part I can understand - it's not the waiter's fault that a customer has a voucher - just like tipping on the full value when you have a restaurant.com voucher...but the tax I don't...I don't understand how they can charge tax on something you did not buy...if you use Total Rewards points to pay for a buffet - you don't pay tax...I can't understand how this is different. Sounds like they are being rather sneaky.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I'm quite sad that we now regard £476 as a bargain

Sooo tempted to switch when we go from May to March. It would be £555 for us in March compared to £788 in May.

Good prices there unfortunately it is a bit cold then so we won't be going.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

But totally unsustainable if you think about it.......£200+ taxes, and the other £100 to pay for fuel, staff, planes, food, drinks, movies, handlers etc.
