We wanted to go to something like baseball when we go in October. We were hoping to see the lakers game as saw that a couple of years back but its a week after we get back
Where is the baseball on? Is there any american football on near by?
Am
The Rebels (UNLV team) will be up and running in October. As well as the home games they also allow you to watch some of their practices. Check out the UNLV website.
Baseball - minor league will be over and the major league will finish their regular season early October with playoffs until the end of the month. Closest games being in Phoenix or LA.0 -
Hi guys, I am planning trip to Vegas in September. I have been around 5 times and have stayed at the MGM,Luxor and NY NY. I would like to stay further up the strip this time, probably at the Mirage. I use smartervegas to get the best rates but was wondering If I am better off booking in advance or waiting closer to the time? Any help would be great.
I've stayed in The Mirage, I loved the Pool and hotel shops although couldn't really get on with the gaming floor - weirdly enough! Still managed to get a few hands of BJ in.
The rooms are ok but the bathroom was pretty small, when I went to the Players Club at checkout they said I didnt have enough for any comps but at check out all my food and drink was comped (about $150) so was pretty happy! I'd stay there again but next time am going with PH, I've tried Bellagio, Mirage, Palazzo so far.
Does SmarterVegas let you book direct? I always book a rate I am happy with and make sure I can canel upto 24hours which is the norm if booked direct - can then switch if something better comes along!0 -
I believe the City rooms are in the west tower and don't have a balcony. They are only 460 sq ft compared to 620 sq ft for the studio plus a 110 sq ft balcony. It also doesn't mention "view" so I'm guessing it they don't have a premium view.
The City Room has 2 queen beds and the studio has a king bed.
In my experience, and from what I have read, they don't give free upgrades.
Looking at the website I think the City rooms only has a shower and no bath. It's a jacuzzi bath in the studio.
You would need to ask for a room facing north to get a view of the fountains if they have such a thing.
I would suggest calling them to see if they have City Rooms with a view before you get your hopes up.
The difference in price between a City Room and a Terrace Studio is only $10-20 a night. However from Terrace Studio to Terrace Studio Premium View is an additional $60 a night.
Oh, and the rate we booked didn't include breakfast. We only found the deals which included breakfast a few days later. However at check in the girl said that breakfast was included which was a bonus as that saved us another $36.
Luci, glad you had a good time, long time lurker but we are off in June for 2 weeks at the Cosmo. Couple of questions if you don't mind...
How did breakfast work, we've got breakfast at the wicked spoon included, do you just charge it to your room and they credit it back? Was their a time limit like before 11am?
We've got a Studio Terrace booked, I've read about some rooms being noisy at the weekend because of the Marquee club on the 14th floor, did you hear any noise?
Thanks0 -
AugustLooking at doing this trip Canyon.
Take off from Las Vegas Airport on an exhilarating helicopter flight to the Grand Canyon. You'll enjoy a 45-minute helicopter flight each way, land deep in the canyon for a champagne picnic, and fly low over the famous Las Vegas neon Strip on your return. The Grand Canyon All American Helicopter Tour is a half-day tour,
My question is we are going in Aug and realise it will be hot. Would we be better going for a 7am or 8am or 3pm or 4pm slot.0 -
Mayduchy - wow, what an adventure! At least it sounds like the more recent part was more exicting than the earlier part...hope the remainder makes up for all the hassle at the beginning.
I paid out for RCC (united's lounge) at Denver -figuring with the cost of coffee and snacks at the airport and uncomfy seating it was worth the $50-and it was -Denver has free wi-fi btw but it was much nicer charging up the lappy from a socket by a comfy chair with snacks and coffee on tap than in the termnal-unlike AA though they don't have showers.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Regarding tixs, the Mirage has 20% off atm which seems pretty good, I think?
Thanks!
We have seen it twice and really enjoyed it. I would go with the 20% off. They maybe available at Tix4Tonight at roughly the same discount, but you have to pay a service charge of $6 and faff about queuing for ages then have to go to the Mirage to pick up the actual tickets.0 -

Not sure what you mean by "time limit"? Breakfast is from 7am until either 10.30 or 11am after which it is lunch and it is only good for breakfast.
We were on either the 25th or 27th floor and didn't hear any noise from the nightclub. Just ask for a high floor/quiet room at check in.0 -

Earlier would be better IMO, not forgetting the tour is to the West rim ( I think), not the south rim which is generally regarded as the GC0 -

This sounds like the one we did back in 2008, was it with Papillion? Seem to remember there are only one or two helicopters companies which have permission to land in the Grand Canyon?
Anyway our flight was fantastic and we went with the earliest time which created some great views. Seem to think they picked us up even earlier than 7am and we were back at the hotel before midday:o0 -
Thanks for the info re: connecting flights at Gatwick. Flight lands (supposedly) at 10am and the one up to Manchester leaves at 3.30pm so should be OK after all the faffing about - assuming the Vegas flight is on time. Thanks for the tip also about hiring the car abck to Manchester in the worst case scenario -I would never have thought to do that!!!
Travel Zoo have some Cirque tickets from $55, although will prob go dor the $86 - is that a good price? I think I want to see Love because I love the Beatles.
Anyone seen the Lion King? I also fancy that! Are tickets cheaper to book in advance or once you are there?
Also, is the vegas tribute show any good?
Are there any special restaurants in Vegas that you would reccomend that need to be booked in advance, its about 7 weeks until we go...
Also - which is the best cinema to go to? Harry Potter comes out while we're there, I couldn't possibly wait until we got home to see it!!:rotfl:
Sorry for all the questions!0
