A quick few points to driving in Vegas would be great, what speed limits do they have?

    Slow!

They all vary as they do here but generally even on a freeway it is often only 55 but does go up to 75 in places

Dont get caught as it can cost upwards of $400

Grand Canyon tours - talk to me! :D

My mum and her mate want to do the grand tour, getting there by coach, etc etc.... Any pointers in the best way to go for this ? she wants a good day out of it, but as i dont want to go myself, dont know anything about it with regards to getting there, etc etc. dont think she's too fussed on helicopter rides as that would push the cost over $100 each, but just the usual sight seeing tours info would be grateful :):)

Also..... for myself, i pick up a mustang (or Corvette convertable if i win shed loads of $!) for the day (well, 24hr)..... My plan was for me and the wife-to-be to leave the Trop around 9am, and then drive maybe to the hoover dam, take a pic and so on, cross into Arizona, get pic, and then drive back! ;) and then find a tourist place at Lake mead, sunbath maybe, go on a boat, or just find a nice secluded spot we can park at :D etc etc
Someone said to me that it would take 3hours to drive to Hoover Dam ? sounds a bit long given it looks close on the map!!!! any pointers on this ?
    ta :)

Someone is talking crap...it's about 40 minutes to Hoover Dam...can be longer if you hit traffic, but nowhere near 3 hours.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Ha you are right, must have Champagne on my mind! They have various specials right through the season, schedule can be viewed on their website www.lv51.com.

The season finishes at the beginning of Sept so I won't see them again as I'm not back over until end of Sept. shame as it's a great night out.

We always try and book our stays around a homestand. $ beer night is the only freebie game we will avoid as at the last one the locals in wife beater attire got a bit "rowdy".

At one of the games last year they tried and persuaded us to lead the singing in the middle of the 7th. For the sake of everone's ears we politely declined!

As ferf1223 says it's only 30 miles from Las Vegas (click the link for tour details)

Hey guys, has anyone seen Terry Fator @ The Mirage? Did a search and nothing came up, so excuse me if this has been discussed before :) Regarding tixs, the Mirage has 20% off atm which seems pretty good, I think? :)

    Thanks!

Hi guys, I am planning trip to Vegas in September. I have been around 5 times and have stayed at the MGM,Luxor and NY NY. I would like to stay further up the strip this time, probably at the Mirage. I use smartervegas to get the best rates but was wondering If I am better off booking in advance or waiting closer to the time? Any help would be great.

I think first you(mum) need to decide which Rim to see. Most tours go to West Rim, as it is closer to Vegas, however it is not actualy part of Grand Canyon National Park.
Locals will tell you that South Rim is the proper Grand Canyon, it is deeper, colors are richer..
After research we went to South Rim on the plane from Vegas North airport with company called Vision airlines, booked with Viator.com for $219 per person.
They flew us to GC, there we got on the bus, took us to 2 major view points, we had 45 minutes at each one. Then back to the plane. Whole trip lasted cca 6.5 hrs, and it was great:) Would not want to go there on the bus though for 5.5hrs one way..
    Best wins ever:
2012: Holiday to LA for 2 adults +2 kids for 4 days
    2013: £2 000 Virgin Holiday Voucher!
2014: $1000 spending money for hols
2015: 8 night holiday to Thailand
