if you go to the ESTA site and put in your passport details, it will bring up your number and the expiry date.

    https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/

Flight and hotel details are optional.

ESTA is valid for 2 years from the application date (or until passport expires if less than 2 years) - not travel dates...so may be worth checking it's valid to your October dates.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

If I was taking kids to Vegas I'd be looking on the basis "If the kids are happy-I'm happy" as nothing wrecks a holiday like bored kids !

With the age of yours I probably wouldn't do a single centre -I'd split it.

I'd fly into Vegas on a Sunday or Monday (avoiding the higher priced Friday and Saturday nights hotel pricing) around Thurday I'd pick up a hirecar and drive to Los Angeles (if you don't want to drive you can get SouthWest flights for £20pp) and stay in Anaheim for a couple of nights-take the kids to Disney and maybe Universal (neither need a car from Anaheim-hotels have shuttles to DL and there's a coach to Universal). Fly home from LA (which has cheaper flights than LAS anyway). I think this would be a far more family friendly holiday than just Las Vegas which really doesn't offer an awful lot for families that doesn't cost a fortune.

Out of interest I decided to cost it out to see how the prices differed (I used 23 May to 31st May to make the avoiding the double the price Fri/Sat hotel price in Vegas) and threw in transfer prices too.

Flight American Heathrow to New York JFK and connect to Vegas-returning Los Angeles Heathrow direct (BA flight with an AA flight number) £1832 Fare found on https://www.kayak.co.uk
Taxi to strip hotel around $20 with tip

4 nights Flamingo $260/£166 deluxe OR Go room (which is what I'd suggest) $420/£280. Flamingo because the pool area is wonderful and the hotel is bang centre Strip unlike MGM or Trop which are less central. Flamingo has a new food court as well as the normal resturants including Johnny Rockets which kids (and this adult) love. Kids also like the fact you can get really close to the ducks and Flamingos in the grounds.

Flight with SouthWest LAS to LAX 4 x £20 =£80

(You could pick up a car hire at LAX or there are shuttles direct to all the hotels from the airport -car hire would be cheaper)

There's a wealth of hotels adjacent to Disney most with free shuttles and free breakfast you could get a suite hotel (seperate living room and bedroom so a bit of privacy and room to spread ) for £250 all in for 3 nights-a less if you just wanted a normal room with 2 double beds. Suite quoted is the Cortona with hotels.com

So flights and hotels £2442 so pretty much the same kind of prices or a little less -you can bring this down by using a deluxe room instead of a Go room and by looking at cheaper options -of which there are many in Anaheim.

It only needs to be valid on entry to the US so you are well within the time.

Happy new year to everyone! I'm currently a very excited girlie as my husband and I booked our flights for April this morning. He's going to have to endure me randomly squeeing for the next four months :D I'm hoping to stay at the Vdara as it'll probably be the last time we go to Vegas for a while so it'll be good to go out in style!

We got a new ESTA before the charges came in, so I went in to amend the travel dates but that isn't an option - did you used to have to tell them when you're traveling or did I imagine that?

Just booked via Ebookers after many hours of tryig to get an extra special bargain. Basically I got 9 nights at the Luxor flying from Gatwick on 4th March for £837. The bonus was that under the " other rooms available" option was the chance to upgrade to a Pyramid spa room that have the seperate living area and hot tub. This was for an extra £147 (the original price was around £760)

Pleased with that deal and a lot of the room options are 30% off the package price at the moment! The Luxor site even with a 25% discount code was $1500 for that suite and with the flights being £540 for those dates I think its a cracking deal:)

EDIT Oh and I got 6% cashback with Topcashback too!!
