depends what you intend to spend originally I guess, if you can easily rack up a bill of $100...

you have to order $100, will have spent $50 + $4.
    so you're basically buying a $100 voucher for $54.

so if you were only going to order $60's worth, then you're only saving $6 on what you would have ordered... and getting $40 of free stuff you wouldn't have done/don't want :)

My thinking exactly. We might not end up going, so I've lost $4 - if we do, I know that we'll be able to enjoy some cocktails with our dinner - we like a leisurely dinner so won't be rushing. It's only 'cos I've heard everyone on here rave about it that I want to go - then I'll know what everyone means when they talk about it!

We were in Dubai at New Year and ate at the Burj Al Arab Hotel - the meal cost £175 for the two of us - but we'd never been to Dubai and don't plan to go back (not because it's awful just because we like to go somewhere different each holiday). Similarly, Las Vegas will be our first time and we'll be there for New Year, so a burger dinner might cost us $60, so what? - we might never go back and we're on holiday! It's not even like it's £60 - it's dollars:D

Not me :D, In N Out has better burgers, but then again you couldnt do a leisurely meal there ( not sure you can at Stripburger either though). I have only been once but they seemed to want to get us out as soon as we had finished eating

Agree about you only losing $4 though, I have bought a few vouchers from rest.com that I havent used, in the days when they expired after a year

The best mexican I have had in the UK is from Wahaca, there aren't many of them (not sure where you are located?) but it is proper freshly made mexican food and reeeeally yummy.

I'm down in Kent where's this place then?

Doubt it lol! My OH wants to try some proper mexican food so if anyone has any recommendations i would be grateful.

I've been to Dos Caminos in the Palazzo a couple of times. It's ok. Wahaca here is better (avoid the Covent Garden one as it's always crowded).

I find it hard to see all the excitement over a burger joint as well. People seem to go nuts for the vouchers for Stripburger. I guess it is because it's one of the only "strip" places on r.com (if you exclude everywhere in MB) In fact we find it hard to get excited over any food stuff in Vegas, it mostly looks very unappetizing with the large portions, I would rather have a good meal in Blighty.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Stripburger is nothing special, it's just that $25 off $35 makes it very good value hence the scramble to get a r.com cert when they come out.

we love Stripburger and with the $25 voucher it's just a bonus for us - we would probably go there without it (we did once a couple of trips ago). I also love In and Out, but it's a different thing to me...plus, we probably spend about the same at In and Out as Stripburger when we have a voucher for the latter.

I guess for us we'd rather have a $50 voucher with a $100 minimum spend somewhere that has more expensive mains - but we're not big drinkers and wouldn't see enough value in an expensive cocktail to have it make sense for us...we've had some reasonably expensive meals in Vegas, it's not that we're not willing to shell out on occasion for something special (and if we can ever manage to get through in time to make a booking before they fill up we fully intend to visit The Fat Duck here in the UK one day)...just that so far none of the expensive meals have really been worth it (Top of the World and the Steak House at CC spring to mind...in both cases, we've had better meals for less money).
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
