I always like a good Vegas blog and my OH (a tech geek) mentioned that a blogger will be staying at all the strip hotels in April - one a day.
The blog isn't set up yet, but the original post he's talking about it is on this website: http://techcrunch.com/2011/03/26/color-me-done/
"My first stop will be Las Vegas where I’ll spend the entire month of April (and a few days of May) staying a single night in each of the 33 hotels on the Vegas strip. In addition to my twice-weekly TechCrunch posts, I’ll be writing a daily diary of the trip, and my inevitable descent into madness, for the mothership Huffington Post."

AugustAfternoon everyone
As part of our LV wedding/honeymoon we are having 11 nights at Staybridge Suites LV, then 7 nights at Zoetry in Cabo San Lucas (Mexico) before returning to Vegas for a further 3 nights...can't decide where to stay really.
Stayed at Staybridge/Encore last year and loved them, however we're wandering whether it's worth bothering paying out all that $$$ for our last three nights in LV? We won't have a car when we get back from Mexico but that doesn't matter so much as we are both young and fit (though maybe not so after all the buffets we intend to consume!!!)
Really the last three days will be spent doing last minute shopping bits and maybe doing a day at Grand Canyon via plane (if we haven't already done this in the first part of the trip)as we did most other touristy bits last year or will do during our 11 days on the first part of this trip. Casino's or a great view aren't really that important to us for this trip, but a nice(ish) room and service is
At the moment we're undecided between....
1) Budget - Flamingo Go Room
2) Budget - Palms - some pretty decent packages on at the mo IMO but is it too far off strip to be convinient??
or
3) Wynn or Encore again
4) Bellagio - Fountain View
5) Mandarin Oriental
Were considering Cosmo but not since the prices have shot up.
Travel dates for last part of trip are Mon 1st Aug - Thurs 4th Aug
Any recommendations greatly recieved (just the two of us BTW)
Thanks x :j
As you have been before and know what to expect. I think it is up to you and how much you want to spend, the only one I would rule out is Palms but only because of location.
Just to add I was thinking of Cosmo in Aug..premium view for $160 a night, while I was thinking about it, the price went up to $210 a night...to much for me0 -
Threads been quiet today/tonight - Dancing on Ice final of course :j Now Simply Red's last gig !
Has anyone seen the Mr Spock lookalike downtown - what a likeness, as good as the two avatars I seen last August - I nearly asked for a pic with him....:o0 -
Hi,
sorry for the late follow up since my last post. Thanks for the replies! I have done DIY holidays there before but admittedly have not done much searching because I thought I would save time and ask you good folk what the best travel websites are now to book with, whether it's DIY or package deals.
I usually just book through expedia for convenience, even if it meant paying a bit extra, but now it's shot way up! I stay at many hotels, as I like to stay at a different one each time, but the last few times I've stayed at the MGM and Excalibur due to certain reasons.
I've looked on kayak, US airways is £482. Not a bad price. Anyone recommend websites to book hotels? I like to stay in "themed" ones.
What are the best websites to book package deals?
Any info is appreciated.
Edit: Looked on some websites, including hotel.com and managed to find deals for my normal spending budget. I normally spend between £600-£800, give or take on hotel and flights. Last few times I have flown direct, but with Virgin flight prices now being around £785, I can kiss goodbye to doing that, unless anybody knows how to lower direct flight prices.0 -

And if you have found a flight for £482...why havent you booked it? anything under £500 is great in these times0 -

MayI've stayed at the Riv a couple of times-the first time I had a priceline stay and they upgraded me unasked into a massive suite with balcony -the next time I was going to Vegas I emailed them saying how much I had enjoyed my stay -and they gave me 3 nights comped with food-the room was renovated and very nice . It still has that old Vegas feel to it with being completely scabby like some with that vibe. I'd stay there again if I couldn't get comped mid Strip.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

You've not said WHEN you are going so it's hard to say if that £480 fare is a good deal or a VERY good deal.
We've already answered your question about where to look for the hotel deals -people on here will help but you do need to do the looking for yourselfIf you find what think is a good deal -we'll tell you if it is or if you may be able to do better. Did you see the comment before about your players club cards btw ? No idea if your total budget of £600-£800 is realistic as you haven't said how long you are going for or if that price is for one person in the room or two !
(Glad Kayak was useful for you-have you checked out their hotel side too btw?)I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
