hi, i'm looking to book a room for 4 of us in april for 3 nights and have found a couple of deals. can anyone advise me which room/hotel is best please?

mandalay bay strip view room $548.70
    luxor pyramid deluxe $406.78
    luxor tower deluxe $460.54

    thanks

for 4 of you, have you priced up booking 2 rooms rather than cramming the 4 of you in one? The price may not be that much more.

As for which room/hotel is best it depends a bit on what is most important to you...though I would think that a pyramid room would seem really cramped with 4 people just due to the angle of the walls it just naturally seems smaller than a room with a similar footprint.

Depends on the dates-to be honest I think you could do better for hotel choice though-Luxor is a bit blah and Mandalay is not very central. Do those prices include the extra person cost, taxes and resort fee? Are they midweek or weekend dates ? Are any extras included ?

You didn't come across a very excited Scottish lady called Jackie at the Flamingo showroom did you Ferf ?

Not that I recall, but to be honest, it's all kind of a blur from the point the spotlight hit our table to the point we picked up the pictures. :)

I told Marie that I didn't know how she could walk in those heels let alone dance and she said 'you get used to it - and at my age, it's all about the accessories'. I meant to tell her she looked amazing, but I didn't...I was sort of in shock over the whole thing and barely spoke, just didn't know what to say really...and that was afterwards...during I was just scared I was going to get yanked up on stage so I just sat very still and quiet most of the time so maybe they wouldn't notice me. :)

i haven't looked at two separate rooms but will do now.

the dates are 20th-23rd so there's a friday night in there which i know makes it more expensive. i think that's all costs included.

LOL She's a sweetheart . Really chatty and normal -if very hyper.
In the US she does the TV advertising for one of the slimming plans-one of my American friends told her she'd lost forty pounds -Marie told the ENTIRE VIP room about it -My friend was thrilled-I'd have been mortified !

So Mr Ferf can now say he got a standing ovation on the Vegas Strip eh ?

First visit you want to be central -if you want a good pool too then check out the Flamingo as it has a great pool and no resort fee. Treasure Island has some decent deals sometimes and is in almost as good a location. Take a look at those two and then tell us what you like /don't like about them and how the group is made up , ages, what kinds of things you especially want to see. There isn't one hotel that suits everyone (fortunately)

duchy - she was a total sweetheart, I really really liked her and glad I got the chance to meet her.

And yes, Mr. Ferf is almost famous. :)

duffer_83 - it's not an easy choice! is there a reason that you've focused on Mandalay Bay and Luxor? If you give us some ideas what's important to you and your price range people will give you some opinions (we're very good at giving opinions here)...I gather you're late 20s based on your user name? You're only there 3 nights so not a lot of time...any thoughts on what you want to do when there, what your focus might be and what tops your list in terms of a hotel for your trip? If a pool is a big thing, MB's is said to be excellent (I haven't been myself).

I don't think you can get a helicopter from McCarran to the south rim...I think all helicopter trips originating from McCarran go to the west rim...maybe check the info on page 1.
